The Powers' family life mission is reflected in Nelson Henderson’s quote, ā€œThe true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit.ā€ Laura has committed to grow a team that is unparalleled in the industry and as a reflection of her appreciation, she gives an annual monetary gift in honor of their clients to Family Legacy International to benefit the orphans of Zambia that they have served since 2012, that have been scourged by HIV/AIDS. Once a quarter, her team chooses a local charity to serve. From making dinner for homeless families in the Family Promise program to styling 15 young ladies hair & makeup with Love Fosters Hope, this philosophy of giving is integral to her team's and Compass' culture. They believe it’s their responsibility to make the world a little better, one place at a time. Laura & Matt love to travel to Angel Fire to hike & fish, visit their children, Megan & Sam, or host intimate groups for dinner in their home.
