About Lisa
Lisa Danbrot has been representing clients in home sales and purchases since 2012, working in two separate and distinct New Jersey territories; the dynamic Princeton area where she currently resides, and the Essex County commuter towns such as Maplewood and South Orange, where she lived for years.

A native of Brooklyn NY, born to a family of artists and writers for whom architecture, design, language, and communication were ways of life, Lisa has a degree in Fine Art, and a professional background in the business of art. Having worked in the NYC art world at such notable galleries as Vivian Horan Fine Art, Dominique Haim Chanin Fine Arts, and Curt Marcus Gallery, where she transacted with high-profile clientele in acquisitions of multi-million dollar inventory, Lisa also held the title of Managing Editor at the curatorial arts publication zingmagazine, to which many notable contemporary artists from NYC and LA contributed.

Alongside her career in the NYC art world, Lisa started practicing yoga in the mid 1990’s. She eventually went on to teach, and received her first certification in 1999. She continued on, earning 3 more certifications in varying styles of yoga over the following decades. She has served on the staff and on teacher training panels at numerous studios throughout NYC, Brooklyn, and New Jersey.

Lisa brings all of her experience to the proverbial real estate table; an understanding of investment value and client relations from experience in the high-pressure industry of NYC art sales, skills in multi-layered agendas and administration from the project management-based publishing realm, and expertise in communication and a belief in breathing through challenge from years of practicing and teaching yoga. Combined, her credentials lend themselves to helping her clients navigate Real Estate with focus, commitment, proficiency and ease.

Currently, Lisa continues to foster her passion for writing and editing in her roles as Managing Editor and contributing author for the home-style blog, founded by her partner, Carla Labianca, Inhabit Your Home. In 2018, she and Carla co-founded the Resource Home Show which had a virtual baby called: Resource @ Home.

Carla and Lisa; Danbrot+Labianca Properties, continue to evolve their products and platforms to share information and serve their clients in innovative and inspired new ways.

"Lisa was referred to us by friends who’d worked with her on their home purchase. From the moment my husband and I started working with her, we knew it was going to be a good fit. Lisa worked diligently, was invested and always kept the lines of communication open. As first time homebuyers, she made us feel comfortable asking a million questions about the process. She also works with a network of professionals (home inspectors, lawyers, etc) that are as awesome as she is. In this difficult market, it’s important to have an advocate who can do all that it takes to get to the closing table. Lisa was our PR agent, protector and friend from beginning to end. Lisa is hands down the best!"

"Lisa is an absolute pro and a joy to work with. When my husband and I decided to move from Brooklyn to New Jersey, Lisa came highly recommended as a local, extremely knowledgable expert agent. She was so, so patient with us as we figured out what we wanted in a neighborhood and home, fielded our hundreds (and hundreds) of questions, was always available to see and talk through a property, and has such a great eye. The market right now is absolutely nuts and I'm positive that if we hadn't been working with Lisa, we would have given up."

"When we decided to move to NJ from Rhode Island, Lisa came highly recommended by two friends who had made the move from NYC to South Orange a few years back and both had wonderful experiences working with Lisa. It was a big move for us and we had a super crazy timeline to find a new home. Lisa was amazing from the start. She took time to learn about our backgrounds, interests, likes/dislikes, and goals. She made sure the houses we were looking at met our criteria and she kept us focused. Since we were traveling from RI to look at houses, she was able to squeeze many appointments into a single day for us to look at. She's extremely organized, responsive and efficient. She knows the area inside and out... And she has an amazing eye! Lisa made the whole buying process so much easier than we had ever expected. We found an amazing home in West Orange and we couldn't have done it without her!"

"My partner and I were first-time home-buyers moving from Brooklyn to NJ, not-to-mention neither of us grew up in the tri-state, so we felt there was a lot we didn't know. Lisa was the absolute best. She was extremely informative about the process and the market and kept us informed and on-task. She was super patient while we figured out what mattered to us and calibrated our expectations. She helped us figure out how to make strong offers while showing the utmost respect for our taste, our comfort, and our budget. She also has a wealth of contacts -- when we tried to get inspections done between snow storms on a tight timeline, dropping Lisa's name motivated folks to squeeze us in. I felt like she was rooting for us the whole time, and would not want to go through this process with anyone else. We could not be happier with the house we eventually purchased. I could not recommend her more highly."

"My husband and I just worked with Lisa Danbrot to find our dream home, and we can’t recommend her enough. We are both real estate agents ourselves in Manhattan and had very strong ideas about the type of person we hoped would lead our process. We wanted an area expert who listens to our needs and understands this is not just a “deal” but our home. It’s an emotional journey, yet we hoped being in the industry we would remain grounded. This was not always the case. It’s so important to have the right guide who can be smart when you’re swept up in the pressure. Lisa was this for us an more— continually empathetic, never pushy, always reachable, quick to notice when we were struggling, and always able to shoot us straight when we needed. It can be an intimate relationship, discussing finances and budget, and Lisa negotiates it with grace. Her communication is always sensitive and on point. AND she has great taste, which also helps! And our home? Well, we found something we fell in love with but thought we couldn’t afford. Lisa was very cautious to make sure we didn’t offer over what was comfortable. We were sure we’d be out bid, there were several other offers. Ours was not the highest, but apparently it was the smartest and we got the dream house. It was all Lisa. Thank you Lisa!!!!"
