For Lou Muscarella, an esteemed DMV Realtor, every real estate transaction is a new adventure. With over 20 years of dedicated industry experience, Lou pairs invaluable insight with an enduring passion for his work that shines through day in and day out. Whether he’s helping first-time buyers start their search or advising seasoned investors on how to grow their portfolio, Lou guides every client with the same level of enthusiasm, expertise, and unwavering commitment to making their dreams a reality. 

Lou is consistently recognized year after year as a top producer in the DMV region, having sold more than 500+ properties to date. He’s best known by clients for his vast market wisdom, tireless work ethic, and his dedication to providing a world-class experience powered by service. No matter how busy Lou may be, his goal is always to treat every client as if they’re his only client. That philosophy of personalization also informs his capacity to see every situation through the lens of each buyer or seller, taking the time to understand and prioritize their needs over every other factor involved in a transaction. To ensure his clients walk away from a deal happy, Lou will do whatever it takes, a habit he formed years ago while earning his Bachelor’s degree. Over the course of 21 years, Lou persevered through night classes and distant learning—all while working full time—to ultimately receive his degree from the College of Management and Business at National Louis University. He brings that same determination to each transaction, relentless in his quest to help every client achieve their own goals.  

As a 35-year resident of the greater DMV area, Lou offers extensive insight into its many vibrant neighborhoods, and he loves helping clients discover the nuanced charm of DC, Maryland, and Virginia alike. In addition to his sweeping local knowledge, Lou’s experience spans virtually every type of transaction and style of home—from downtown condo sales, to farmhouse estate purchases, new construction projects, military relocations, and beyond. Lou has even partnered with many of his former clients’ kids as they look to buy or sell, a testament to the trust he’s built, the network he’s forged, and the lifelong connections he’s made along the way.

When he’s not working for his clients, Lou is usually working to stay ahead of the ever-changing real estate industry, and polishing his own skills by training with some of the leading coaches in the business today. His happy place is the beach, but he also loves nature hikes, and walking Angel, his rescue lab-golden mix. By participating in Compass Cares, Lou donates $200 from every closed transaction to JDRF, an organization that helps fund type 1 diabetes research.
