About Maria

Maria joined Compass after working in some of the industry’s most respectable real estate firms including MHP Real Estate Services (formerly known as Murray Hill Properties), MTP Investment Group (in the MTP Parking sub-division), and Toby Moskovits’ Heritage Equity Partners.

After completing her Masters of Science in Real Estate Development degree at Columbia University, Maria worked at MHP Real Estate (formerly known as Murray Hill Properties, currently owned by Banyan Street Capital) as an Asset Management & Acquisition Analyst. Maria assisted the Head of Asset Management and the firm’s Partners with underwriting various commercial real estate acquisition and disposition transactions in the New York City area, including MHP’s purchase of Bronx Post Place, a 175,000 square foot landmarked commercial building, located at 558 Grand Concourse in the South Bronx.  

In her role as asset management associate at MHP Maria was responsible for preparing budgets, variance reports, overviewing capital expenditures and new leases, as well as rent ups, rent rolls and tenant billing statements for MHP’s New York City property portfolio, which included 180 Maiden Lane - a 1,079, 361 square foot, 41 story-tall commercial and retail property in the Financial District of Manhattan. Similarly in this role Maria evaluated the MHP’s real estate portfolio and individual building as well as assist in the monthly and quarterly performance reports distributed to investors, limited partners and ownership. Maria’s superior analytical skills help her clients identify profitable investment strategies whether they are looking to acquire or sell real estate assets.

Originally from a background in interior design, Maria has an acute eye for design, and has staged New York City’s most iconic properties including 432 Park Avenue, 68B (4,019 SF, sold for $27,500,000), 224 Mulberry Street. Apt 2 (4,078 SF, sold for $10,000,000), 74 Washington Place (9,332 SF, sold for $21,650,000), 135 West 4th Street (3,498 SF), and 117 East 64th Street (7,140 SF). She is also credited with highly published interior design projects including the Food 52 Headquarters, Jack Erwin and Margaux showrooms and offices when working at Float Studio, formerly known as B. Sherman Workshop. She also managed at high end residential projects with Nicole Fuller Interiors, many of which have featured in magazine publications including Luxe Interior Magazine and Living Etc. Similarly, Maria’s commercial interior projects have been published in The New York Times, Metropolis Magazine and the Food 52 blog.

Maria was a Real Estate Development project manager at Heritage Equity Partners where she acted as a liaison with the construction, finance and marketing departments for notable hotel developments caried out by Toby Moskovits’ including  The Williamsburg Hotel (96 Wythe Avenue, in Williamsburg Brooklyn) and the unrealized 215 Moore Street, Bushwick hotel proposal. At Heritage Equity Partners Maria wore many hats and lead the construction team to secure Temporary Certificate of Occupancy for the newly constructed 8th floor of The Williamsburg Hotel as well as review and negotiate the architecture and GM contracts for the proposed 215 Moore Street hotel development. Regardless of whether Maria is working in the design, construction, parking or real estate industry, she brings integrity to her relationships with clients, vendors or owners, representing the best interests of each party in each transaction guaranteeing success.

Most recently Maria held the position of Director of Operations at MTP Parking, (“More Than Parking”), a subdivision of MTP Investment Group, where she was responsible for the management of the company’s Brooklyn and Queens parking garages and their daily operational activities. In her role she built relationships with her clients, vendors and staff to ensure customer satisfaction and quality of service, while maintaining organizational efficiency and maximization of revenues. When working at MTP Maria facilitated the opening of three luxury parking garage facilities at the Waterline Square residential towers. The Waterline Square development is 5-acre, $2.3 billion luxury condominium and rental development complex located on the Upper West Side of New York City. Maria’s attention to detail, superior standards of performance make her an exceptional asset to the team and her clients, bringing her expertise in real estate and design to each project.

Originally from Moscow, Maria has lived in New York for almost a decade leaving an impressive footprint on the real estate and design industries in the city. Maria’s tenacious dedication, natural sense of design, along with her analytical and project management skills bring invaluable insight to all projects she is involved with, while also accentuating the highlights of every real estate deal.

Maria graduated Columbia University with a Masters of Science in Real Estate Development and Parsons The New School for Design with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Interior Design. During her studies Maria was in the role of Student Council President of both her graduating classes at Columbia University (Class of 2017) and Parsons The New School for Design (Class of 2015). She was also a Vice Chair of the Hospitality Development and Investment Club, and the Women of Real Estate Development Club Chair, and represented Columbia University in the STR Student Competition of Hotel Market Analysis study of the Oahu market in Hawaii. Maria continues her involvement with Parsons The New School of Design as a guest speaker and final presentation critic. In her spare time Maria enjoys exploring New York City’s food and beverage scene, traveling and playing tennis.
