About Marion

Marion Magnuson is a former Mergers & Acquisitions attorney who brings extensive expertise across the condominium, co-op, and townhouse markets in New York City. Specializing in townhouses, co-ops and new development condominiums on the Upper East Side and Upper West Side, Marion is known for her exceptional work ethic, refined taste in design and renovation, and her dedication to negotiating the best deals for her clients.
Before joining Compass, Marion worked with one of the top teams at Douglas Elliman, where she was recognized as a 2024 Rising Star. Prior to her career in real estate, she practiced law at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in both Paris and New York, advising clients on mergers, acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and white-collar litigation. Her legal background and training lend Marion a unique advantage in navigating complex real estate transactions. She holds an MBA degree from ESSEC Business School, a J.D. in Business Law from University Paris-Assas as well as the Paris Bar.
Originally from France, Marion's passion for real estate and design was shaped by growing up in a family of architects and living in iconic buildings designed by Le Corbusier and Georges-Eugène Haussmann. Now a proud New Yorker, she appreciates the city's rich architectural heritage, from the classic designs of Rosario Candela to the modern luxury of new developments. Having owned and renovated properties in both Paris and New York City, she brings a discerning eye to every transaction, helping clients optimize both value and lifestyle.
Marion currently resides on the Upper East Side with her husband Matthew and two young children.
