When I first started my search there were three different areas of town in which I was interested. Marla searched for homes in each area. In addition, she did further due diligence like checking for flood areas and commute times to my office. She thought of so many things I hadn’t considered in selecting the right area for me.
Once I chose the neighborhood that was best for me Marla was again patient with me in my decision making. She had to show each of the homes I selected more than once, as my mother wanted to see them too. Marla was available to accommodate both me and my mom.
Marla is a skillful negotiator too. The final sales price was less than the appraised value of the property. Thus, I already had additional equity in my home since day one!

"Buying a new home can be stressful enough, throwing in a relocation can make it even more stressful. At least that’s what I anticipated until I was referred to Marla. She made what could have been an extremely stressful situation picture-perfect! Where do I start with everything, she did to accomplish this feat?
The first thing she did was set up a collection thru her company’s website. The technology that Compass has is phenomenal and made searching for a home remotely so much easier.
Once I found homes that I liked in the collection Marla would go preview each of them for me as she knew I had specific needs in a home. By previewing them and sending me additional photos it helped me narrow down my search.
One of the things I wanted was to put in a swimming pool. Marla would obtain the surveys and easements to make sure the properties that I liked could accommodate the pool I wanted to build.
When I made trips to Houston to tour my selections Marla always made sure she could accommodate my schedule. Once I narrowed it down my daughters wanted to see the homes. Again, she made sure she was available at a time convenient for them.

"I have built homes in the Houston area for literally decades. So, as you can imagine I know many-many realtors that could help me find a home. That being said, I chose Marla for several reasons.
First, she is a hard worker, and a little ball of fire! Anytime I needed something she was on top of it. More importantly she was willing to work with an “old-timer”, at my age I don’t have or use e-mail. I like to do business face to face. Marla would print my home searches and later during the transaction the sales contract and meet with me in person to review or sign them.

Her entry into the world of real estate began in the title business where she was a top producing marketing representative at a Memorial Area title company. There she learned the significance of managing a real estate transaction from beginning to end.
Marla knows the real work starts before the initial client meeting, and why she is dedicated to being there every step of the way. In addition to her local clientele, Marla has assisted with the corporate relocation of employees for companies such as Prime Flight Aviation of The Carlyle Group and Chevron.
As the proud daughter of a career Air Force father, Marla was born in Alaska and has lived in such exotic places like Guam. She also lived in California and spent her formative years growing up in Bossier City, Louisiana. There she graduated high school with honors and went to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She earned a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology and graduating Cum Laude.
Marla is passionate about her Family and community. She lives in Hunter’s Creek Village with her two daughters. Her oldest daughter, Maia, attends The Kinkaid School and her youngest daughter, Lili, attends St. Francis Episcopal School. The newest additions to the family are “Dolly”—an adorable Aussiedoodle and "Blu"—a handsome Labradoodle. Marla enjoys family trips and spending mother-daughter time with her girls. Nothing brings more joy to her life than they do.
She is active in the community supporting various charitable organizations such as BEAR, which stands for BE A Resource for CPS kids, where she is on the host committee. She and her daughter, Maia, are members of the National Charity League. In addition, for the past five years through Family Legacy she has sponsored Rhodah Mwiinga, of Zambia, paying for her schooling and food every year. Marla and her family attend Chapelwood Methodist Church.
She has been involved and active in sports her entire life. Marla was a cheerleader in college and has taken Krav Maga, an Israeli Self-Defense system.
Though her real passion and love is for the game of tennis. She is a member of the Houston Racquet Club where she enjoys playing doubles and taking lessons any chance, she gets. Not only is it a Game-Set-Match mentality on the court, Marla exemplifies that same quality at the negotiating table for her clients.
