"I started buying condos thanks to Matthew Crane consulting in an investment point of view as well as real estate property expertise back in 2011. Since then I bought with Matt 5 condos in Miami. Whether I needed a financing expert, legal advice or any other professionals linked to the properties, Matt is super responsive and has the right contacts on hand. Matt found tenants for the different condos very quickly and made sure the rent is paid on time. I will definitively use he’s services to buy other condos and to sell them in the future too."

"Matt knows Miami! Very knowledgeable, helpful and professional! He showed me so many properties on very short notice and provided me with all the info needed to make decision. Will come back to him and only him in the future!"

"Matt is a very efficient broker, very knowledgeable on the market, providing objective advice, not trying just to close a deal and make a fee. He also provides great services for rental if you are looking to rent a unit you own. A trustworthy and smooth operator, with good knowledge of legal and practical issues for closing a real estate deal in Florida"
Broker Principal, M Group at Compass · Luxury Waterfront Real Estate · Miami Beach
The best of Matt Crane's work never appears on a listing site.
Across more than 20 years in luxury real estate, first in New York and then Miami, Matt has built his reputation on the hardest inventory to find: waterfront single-family homes and buildable land on the islands of Miami Beach. It's a niche few agents ever truly master, and it's where his knowledge runs deepest, from seawalls and lot lines to which properties might quietly trade before anyone knows they're available. That same fluency extends across the full luxury market, from penthouses and signature condominiums to Miami Beach's premier new developments.
The results speak quietly for themselves. As Broker Principal and Team Lead of M Group at Compass, alongside co-lead Mathieu Rochette, Matt has helped build the #1 Compass team in Miami Beach for 2025, ranked in the Top 1% of teams nationally and REAL Trends Verified every year since 2020, with more than $1.5 billion in lifetime sales.
His quietest advantage, though, is his standing among the very agents he competes with. Ask anyone in the Miami luxury market about Matt, even a direct competitor, and you'll hear the same two things: exceptional to work with, and integrity beyond question. That reputation pays dividends his clients can measure. In this market, agents bring their best off-market opportunities to the colleagues they trust, and Matt's buyers are routinely first through the door because of it.
What his clients actually buy, then, is something rarer than access: certainty. He has the answer before the question is finished, handles what others hand off, and makes eight-figure decisions feel as considered as they are. His client list is deliberately short, and he has talked clients out of more deals than he's talked them into. That is precisely why they stay for decades, and why nearly all of his business arrives by referral.
For end users, Matt finds the home that "doesn't exist": the waterfront property that never traded publicly. For developers and investors, he goes further, sourcing exceptional waterfront land and opening doors to the architects, builders, and attorneys who turn a great site into a profitable project.
Discretion isn't a marketing line for Matt. It's inherited. His great-great-great-grandfather founded Crane & Co. in 1801, the paper company entrusted with the paper U.S. currency is printed on and one of the oldest family businesses in America when it sold in 2018. Matt comes from people who understood that trust, kept quietly over generations, is the only asset that compounds forever.
Off the water: Matt is a longtime Miami Beach resident who lives in a single-family home he renovated himself, so when he advises on these homes, it's firsthand. He's a husband and father of two, most often found courtside at his son's tennis tournaments. He's an identical twin (yes, there are two of him; no, the other one can't get you onto the Venetians). Before real estate, he spent a decade as a professional drummer in New York, and he still sits in on the occasional jazz gig around town. At home, five dogs conduct their own showings daily.
