"We met Mayra at a home in La Jolla well over 1.5 years ago when we were very casually looking at a place or two every other month on the weekend. We were self-touring very gently to see what was out there in the La Jolla area more broadly. She was the listing agent for that property which was not a fit and we weren't looking for a fit at that time; however, she did not do what every other agent did when we've walked into a home which is "Whose your agent?" and before any words could form on our lips, saying "I am happy to be your agent!". I immediately liked her because she wasn’t overtly selling us. What Mayra really did was something far more thoughtful, and professional, simply sending us some listings that she thought we'd like.... over time. Not every day, not every week, but occasionally. She saw we had 2 little kids and used the listings to get a sense for our interests and tastes, vs. "which one is your home? buy now!". Huge respect for her approach. While we expressly interviewed other agents, she indirectly and naturally interviewed by being professional, respectful and thoughtful, without pushing. She took the time to understand our interests, how that changed, and never pushed even when she could see a house was close, but just not perfect for us. The above to me was the most important part, how one engages and respects when a sale is not on the horizon. When we got serious about homes, it was a natural fit and was a super comfortable transition. Mayra helped us find the right home, she did all the comp work to understand what a home was worth irrespective of price before we went in the house, she gave us a perspective on what was out-of-date, sub-par or special about a property. Again, not just waiting for us to say yes, but predicting and critiquing. When it was game time for the offer and negotiation, I was impressed with her authentic, progressive, smart and non-offensive style. She got us what we wanted, how we wanted, and most importantly, kept that same high- level of performance and responsiveness from day zero throughout the whole transaction and to close without such as a small drop or lull even when the deal was in sight. Huge respect for her. She is a genuine human being. So much so, we used her to sell our other house in La Jolla which she did in 4 days at our highest expectations as well. Thank you Mayra!
