Melene Thompson

Melene was born and raised in Bellevue, WA, part of the diverse, green and occasionally very wet(!) Pacific Northwest. Commuting to work off island, was part of the adventure she experienced during the 25 years she and hubby, Jim, raised their family on beautiful Whidbey Island, also in Washington State. Having enjoyed multiple careers, and many opportunities to serve on volunteer boards in various communities, Melene excelled in connecting people with their dreams...Over the last 9 years, that's included helping clients find their dream home, or sell their family estate. The last four years of her real estate career has been with Compass, which affords her the opportunity to collaborate with agents all across the country, networking with many of these top agents on a weekly basis to enhance her appreciation of market conditions, and a much broader perspective on how to serve those entering home ownership and selling in todays economy.

What sets Melene apart goes well beyond real estate. Over a career spanning more than 40 years, she honed her craft as a tactical partner and calm voice in chaos — first through her love of reaching consumers through multiple marketing and advertising channels, including her 23 years in radio! In each of these positions, Melene worked in partnership with clients to fine-tune and reach their goals, quite often under intense market conditions and pressure. Those same skills translate powerfully into every transaction she guides her real estate clients in today: sharp problem-solving, clear communication, and an unshakeable ability to keep things moving smoothly, no matter what the market throws her way.

When she's not on Whidbey, you'll find Melene and Jim in Tacoma, where Jim is enjoying retirement and Melene is working with new clients, and savoring the sweet reward of living just minutes from their three pretty incredible adult boys, and newest addition to the family, their grandson. Outside of work and family, Melene strives to find moments to recharge...sitting on the beaches on Whidbey, or enjoying gazing at the beauty of Commencement Bay, or Mount Rainier, "The Mountain", from almost anywhere in Tacoma, including the shores of gorgeous Point Ruston. If traveling, Melene's dream destinations include going back to Hawaii, and Portugal, where she and Jim vacationed several years ago, and Melene found herself transported to a true place of serenity! Melene also recharges by reading a great book, watching a movie with Jim, working out (with a special emphasis on weight lifting), and chasing sunshine anywhere she can find it! Certainly last but not least, Melene is exploring how to reach her current and future clients, as well as family and friends, and has re-entered the vast world of "Social Media!"
