Michael Maniawski

Michael Maniawski brings over fifteen years of experience in the residential real estate industry, spanning the fields of brokerage, research, and development consulting, to the St. André Team, ranked the #1 Small Team in New York and #7 Nationwide by WSJ/RealTrends.

Prior to joining Compass, Michael held a senior role at a boutique residential development consulting firm, where he was involved in over $5B worth of pre-development work for top developers in New York City, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and San Francisco. His role included advising on architectural guidance, unit mix and floor plan development, amenity conceptualization and interior design direction. In addition to consulting work, he also provided residential debt and equity investment advisory services to the most notable investment banks and private equity firms, resulting in over $800M of funding for residential inventory loans and equity investments. The firm also operated a buy-side brokerage, where Michael represented purchasers of high-value residential properties in the city’s most sought-after buildings and neighborhoods.

Michael began his career as one of the youngest agents hired at the country’s largest privately owned real estate brokerage. Along with his encyclopedic knowledge of market inventory, he quickly established a reputation for having innovative approaches to marketing high-value properties. He then entered the New York City market and came to lead new development research efforts at one of the city’s preeminent boutique brokerages, responsible for market intelligence, pre-development guidance, and pricing for a portfolio of over $4B in new development projects across the city.

Born in Connecticut and raised in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio, Michael has lived in New York City for well over a decade. He lives and breathes real estate, architecture, and interior design, and is also an avid traveler.
