The Nickerson Power Team’s roots run deep on Cape Cod. Phyllis and Michael Nickerson Power are descendants of Chatham’s founding family, together bridging generations, neighborhoods and history. And they offer a distinctive point of view for what’s new and next, from the South Shore “over the bridge” to the Cape.

Phyllis, a Chatham resident and Lower Cape lifer with 30 years of Cape Cod real estate experience, leads the team, while her son Michael, a Hingham, resident, has his finger on the pulse of the South Shore and brings a fresh, youthful perspective and energy. They blend the best of traditional realtor values and client-focused practices with the latest digital tools and marketing strategies. They love the people and towns they serve, contributing back a percentage of their fees to local charities.

Having lived in London for 10 years, working at British Airways, the family has extensive international experience traveling the world, hosting Italian exchange students, and they have an appreciation for a wide variety of cultures, design and architecture. For Phyllis, an introduction to the power of real estate began at home when at age 10 she converted the family chicken coop to a duplex playhouse. Michael was exposed to her creativity and passion firsthand via more of her most notable projects: The conversion of a London-based boy’s private school into a family home—including demolition of a 20-ton WWII air raid shelter. More recently, their family project was the building of a colorful “she shed” dubbed “Piccolo Felicita,” a haven for children and adults alike.

As personable as they are professional, The Nickerson Power Team has an intimate understanding of the chapters of life that drive their client’s needs. Mike has embarked on a new career and is excited to join family business and learn from the best. Having spent many years observing by osmosis, following Phyllis’ example, Mike understands the commitment and process to get the job well done for the clients. He has been a Boston Public School history teacher for over 10 years working with special needs students in a diverse student population. Being in education has honed Mike’s skills in communication, organization, leadership and especially patience. This career has taught him how to apply his research and technology skills, coupled with personal insight, to the home buying or selling real estate process. A graduate of Salve Regina University in Newport, RI, and UMass Boston, Mike now lives in Hingham with his beautiful daughter Isadora, along with their rescue dog, “Alligator”. They love spending time on Peggotty Beach in Scituate or walking in World’s End. Organic gardening, cross fit training and boating are some of his many interests.
