About Michael
Michael Onyemaobi is an Investment Sales and Capital Markets Advisor at Compass, where he represents private investors, family offices, and developers in the acquisition and disposition of multifamily properties, land, and strategic real estate portfolios across Southern California.
His expertise is rooted in investment advisory, underwriting, and transaction execution. Michael works closely with clients to evaluate opportunities, structure acquisitions, and navigate complex deals from initial underwriting through closing. He is known for his ability to identify overlooked value, communicate clearly with investors, and execute with discipline in competitive environments.
Michael’s approach is grounded in a deep understanding of real estate fundamentals, including income analysis, land economics, and portfolio strategy. He operates as a strategic partner to investors, helping them deploy capital thoughtfully, manage risk, and position assets for long term performance.
Michael began his career as a Business Development Analyst at OnSiteIQ, where he was on the front lines working directly with real estate developers, private equity firms, and institutional ownership groups across the country. OnSiteIQ partnered with many of the largest capital groups in the industry to deliver construction risk mitigation and project intelligence solutions across ground up development projects. In his role, Michael led outbound business development, originated relationships, and generated new opportunities with developers and capital partners, gaining early exposure to institutional real estate, development pipelines, and the decision making frameworks of sophisticated investors.
He was later hired by Ben Bacal at Revel Real Estate in Beverly Hills, where he became a top producing associate and was directly involved in sourcing, negotiating, and closing investment and residential transactions throughout the Greater Los Angeles region. This experience solidified his reputation as a trusted advisor and skilled closer, and established the execution driven foundation that defines his practice today.
