About Miguel

Miguel Chacón is a seasoned real estate professional with over 15 years of experience shaping Chicago’s housing and investment landscape. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he studied political science, urban studies, and land economics, Miguel has developed deep expertise in residential and investment sales as well as landlord and tenant representation. Known for identifying opportunities where others see challenges, he has successfully repositioned investment properties to maximize value and continues to own and develop a portfolio across Chicago, with a focus on emerging communities. As a broker, Miguel represents multifamily investors, home sellers, and buyers throughout Chicago and its suburbs, helping clients identify and secure the best opportunities.

Beyond his work in brokerage and investment, Miguel is deeply committed to strengthening communities and expanding housing access for all Chicagoans and at all price points. He has testified before the Chicago City Council as a subject matter expert on expanding the Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) ordinance and is a consistent advocate for preserving and expanding Chicago’s naturally occurring affordable housing (NOAH). He serves as Chicago Director of ICSC’s Real Estate Associates Program (REAP), which promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion across the commercial real estate industry. Miguel also Chairs the Latino Real Estate Investors Council (LREIC), Co-Chairs the Chicago Association of Realtors’ Public Policy Committee, and is a board member of the Neighborhood Building Owners Alliance (NBOA) and its Political Action Committee (NBOA PAC), where he helps shape housing policy and advocates for property owners citywide.

Nationally recognized for his expertise, Miguel has appeared on Fox & Friends and local networks including ABC, CBS, NBC, and WGN. His insights have been featured in both national and local publications, and his op-eds on Chicago real estate have been published in the Chicago Tribune and Crain’s Chicago Business.

A lifelong Chicagoan, Miguel is passionate about the city’s history, architecture, and design. He and his family live in the Pilsen community in a converted Catholic convent, where he enjoys sharing his love of the city’s heritage with his wife and three children.
