I've been an agent for over 32 years and bring a treasure trove of Bay Area real estate experience to the table. I'm a member of the Technology Committee with the San Francisco Association of Realtors, and it keeps me up to date on the changes in our industry.
I have a broad range of clients that I've worked with, from first-time buyers to empty-nesters and everything in between. I've represented clients in purchasing and selling single-family homes, condos, TICs, and multi-unit buildings. The complexity of buying and selling in San Francisco requires problem-solving skills. I have built relationships with experts across all aspects of the housing industry to help my clients address challenging issues quickly. I also handled the condo conversion of my property and am familiar with the process.
Although this is unrelated to Real Estate, I helped my former husband run Caffe Freddy's in North Beach.
I am a San Francisco native but also lived abroad as part of a diplomatic family until I was a teenager. I moved to Berkeley before returning to the city for more than 20 years. I've lived in 3 neighborhoods: The Richmond District, Bernal Heights, and Westwood Highlands. I'm currently a resident of the Mission District, which is a vibrant neighborhood.
My partner and I just purchased our first home in SF with Mimi. She was wonderful! She knows every inch of the city and has great relationships with people in the field, having worked in SF real estate for two+ decades. She was a huge comfort to us as we dealt with the stresses and questions involved in becoming fifirst-timeomeowners. She made lots of time to explain each part of the process to us and always welcomed our questions. We can't recommend working with Mimi highly enough. 10/10!!
Mimi is rare among real estate agents in how she listens and learns her clients home search priorities and nuanced preferences, and then quickly finds several great options. I believe she is unique, however, in how she combines high energy, a shared vision and detailed understanding of the complicated San Francisco home-buying process.
For our family, Mimi helped us find and buy a hidden gem of a home...twice! She thread the needle between our sometimes conflicting priorities, introduced us to her deep network of affordable specialists, provided priceless advice, and helped us get to an offer. Mimi then negotiated against multiple bids to put us on top, and then helped us navigate through tricky contingencies. She is the only agent I'd ever use in San Francisco.
An update...A year after moving into our new home, we continue to lean on Mimi's network for contractors and specialists. Everybody she connects us with does high quality work at a reasonable price and they're all responsive. It is so great to have access to her trusted community.
Mimi is a San Francisco gem! She came
highly recommended to us by a coworker and we could not have been happier with
her and how everything turned out during our home search.
We were first time home buyers and needed a lot of hand holding. Mimi was incredibly patient with us, made sure we knew that her priority was finding a home for us that we love, no matter how long the process might take (and in this case it only took a few months!). She made sure we understood each step of the complicated process of buying a San Francisco home and went over all the documents with us, addressing our questions and concerns with ease. She's incredibly responsive via phone, email, text, zoom, whatever your communication preference. You can really tell she cares about her clients and she knows so much about the entire bay area having lived here for so long. We felt very supported and at ease with her during the whole process. She submitted multiple home offers for us, turning them around quickly & efficiently with minimal notice (as is necessary in this competitive housing market).
Mimi also provides excellent contacts for
after you purchase a home. We just had our floors refinished by someone she
recommended, and they look absolutely stunning.
We enthusiastically recommend her for anyone looking to buy a home in the bay area, I think you'll be incredibly happy with your choice if you go with Mimi. Especially if you are first time home buyers and need all the assistance you can get, she will use all her expertise to help get you through all the way to close (and beyond!).
Mimi is outstanding. She was patient with us as a first-time home buyer and took lots of time to explain the process and help us find a great property that we'd be happy with. She found us a wonderful opportunity with a property that needed a little TLC and helped get us connected with contractors, a roofer, floor guy, gardener, etc.! We are so happy with our house and really enjoyed working with Mimi.
Mimi Bruce is the best. She recently
helped us buy our first home in a very frothy market. Her years of
experience and deep network within the SF real estate community were
invaluable to our search. I cannot imagine going through this process with
anyone else. She was totally dedicated (and more patient than I was at
times!) to finding the right house for us. Mimi completely understood what
we valued and wanted in a home. She took time to bring us up the curve on
the bidding process, how to read through reams of disclosures, etc, etc,
etc. Our mortgage lender also loved her and told us how lucky we were to
have her as our agent.
We are beyond happy in our new home and so grateful for all of Mimi's patience and support
Bruce was recommended to us by a relative. We could not have made a better
choice for someone to handle the sale of a parent's home in Pacifica. She was
immediately comfortable to be around. She took us through the difficult process
of preparing the place for sale which included having trusted workers to remove
debris, do painting and repairs and garden cleanup.
We were given the option of spending a bit to fix up the property or selling "as is" and her advice to do the work paid off in offers that exceeded our expectations. We were well compensated for that initial expenditure in our case.
All through the process, Mimi "held our hands" and carefully explained everything. She was always available promptly by email or phone call when we had questions. We cannot thank her enough for the assistance she has given throughout this difficult and often sad process of selling a home with so many memories. She was sensitive to that and we felt her respect for the family the entire time.
Upon our initial meeting with Mimi and Allison Kalhammer who work as a team, we felt we had chosen the best people for the job. Right from the beginning, the listing advice, recommendations for needed improvements, and making sure that we understood any documents or requirements, we always felt that we were in the best hands with Mimi and Allison and highly recommend them to anyone needing to find a trusted listing agent.
Mimi was recommended to us by a friend of the family. I'm so grateful we found her! It took us a while to decide to actually sell, and Mimi was never impatient, only respectful and helpful. I had never tried to sell a house before, and Mimi was immensely helpful and knowledgeable. Just as important, she went out of her way to be encouraging and supportive at a very difficult time for us. She found wonderful people to help with the estate sale. After the house was empty, Mimi used her extensive knowledge and network to find the best people to get the house in great shape to sell. I had no concerns whatsoever in just handing over the keys, and she took over from there, bringing in painters, floor refinishers, gardeners, a staging person, and other professionals. She gave the house a fresh look, bringing out its best qualities so people could envision it as their home. She gave great advice, was always respectful of our choices, and helped us make informed decisions. I could not have asked for a better experience. She is an amazing professional, and now she is a friend of our family as well!
Mimi Bruce came to us with a suitcase full of credentials. She was like our psychologist, easy to talk to, and if we needed her to hold our hands to soothe our anxiety, Mimi did it! She was always truthful giving us positive solutions to problems that came up. Because we had over forty years in our S.F. house we had no clue about the Real Estate Market. Mimi had to educate us--She is a novel worth of knowledge on the subject. She had sold houses in our neighborhood (Westwood Highlands), knew the community and what we could list our house to sell on the market. When we needed any work done to get the ready she has a list of people that do good work and charge reasonable prices. She didn't recommend anyone who she hadn't worked with before. If it wasn't for Mimi, and her high energy I don't feel we would have made it through. On a scale of one to ten, Mimi is a ten!
Mimi handled the purchase of our condo in
Pacific Heights back in 2002. She never grew tired of showing us
properties and worked assiduously on our behalf helping us negotiate the
purchase. She knows real estate and the market better than anyone I have seen
after having lived in San Francisco for 40 years. We called upon Mimi
again to sell our condo in 2015 when we relocated to New York. She
arranged staging, painting, minor repair work while getting it ready for the
sale. On the first weekend open house she showed the place to 85
prospective buyers; on the second weekend open house she showed the condo to
another 85 people. The following day we had 5 offers.
We sold the place, within nine days of it going on the market, for $210,000 over asking price and for nearly double the original purchase price. Mimi worked tirelessly on our behalf and we consider her a good friend and would recommend her to anyone to be their real estate agent.
Mimi Bruce is the best.
"Mimi Bruce is the best in the business, hands down. Mimi helped my husband and I buy, and about 9 years later, sell our first house. When she is working with you, she is responsive, available, quick thinking, problem solving, professional, honest, takes initiative, personable, respectful of your time, money, and opinions." -
