She knows the area and important contacts. She helped me sell my home and make things look great with awesome suggestions. She also found my new home which we love. "Monica helped us find our second home in the near west burbs after we outgrew our one bedroom condo in the South Loop. She is great (and patient). We took well over a year on our hunt - not because Monica didn't find us great homes - but because what we wanted kept shifting. (I would not recommend home shopping when you / your partner are heavily pregnant - you lose your rationality). Through it all, Monica was exceedingly responsive and never got sick of us. We looked at Oak Park, Forest Park, Berwyn, parts of the city and Brookfield. We looked at finished homes, fixer uppers and two flats. Our budget changed by the day. And she kept helping us find places that fit our new vision for the next home. We, like everyone else, are perfectly capable of searching the internet for new listings. Monica's value, however, was in knowing the area. She lives in Oak Park and knows the surrounding suburbs exceptionally well - both from a market standpoint and as a parent. When we (finally) found a house we loved, Monica knew the seller's realtor and lawyer and had a solid working relationship with them from past deals. That made our process easier. They trusted Monica and she knew what we were getting into in negotiating with them. That made our transaction very easy. Even today - many months after we have closed - I still call Monica. We are remodeling our home and she has excellent insight on design (as well as contacts in the local contractor community). "After an extensive on-line search, I reached out to Monica because at first I was impressed by her genuine smile. We scheduled a meeting and became instant friends. I immediately knew and felt she would be my agent, and that she would always sincerely look out for my best interests. As a person who is prone to "nerves", especially when considering a major purchase, I embarked on this process with a hefty amount of fear and trepidation.
