About Newell

Newell Anderson is an award-winning agent who has been in practice since 1997, sharing his experience and expertise with buyers, sellers, investors and developers throughout Nashville's core urban neighborhoods. Over the years, he has developed a keen understanding about the differences in the home buying process depending on a person's point of view.  A first time buyer is different from an investor, a developer is different from someone selling their personal home - and all deals vary depending on the personalities of the parties. Newell's philosophy is to maintain a calm demeanor and diplomatic approach when negotiating for his clients best interests, while striving to create a pleasant real estate experience for everyone.


Newell has worked alongside builders and developers for many years and has a competent understanding of the development process. He has also renovated several of his own homes over the years and learned many personal lessons through that process that he can share with his clients.


Newell has a passion for smart growth in Nashville and has been involved with organizations that also strive for this goal, such as The Urban Land Institute, Nashville Civic Design Center, and Greenways for Nashville. As Nashville continues to grow, Newell envisions a strengthening of its interconnected neighborhoods, rather than a continuation of sprawling and isolated subdivisions with little connectivity to community. He also has a personal commitment to improving our environment and strives to incorporate energy efficient and healthy building techniques into the construction process.


Personal: originally from New York City, Newell grew up in New Jersey and moved to Nashville in 1987. A true Nashvillian, he is also a musician, playing both guitar and drums. Prior to real estate, he worked in the music industry as an engineer for a production company. Over the years, he has lived in many of Nashville's best neighborhoods, such as Belmont Hillsboro, Historic Waverly Place, Lockeland Springs, Eastwood Neighbors, Midtown, and West Meade. Currently, Newell, his wife and two teenaged sons live in the 12South neighborhood in a renovated 1916 craftsman home.
