We met Nick while he was hosting an open house for a listing we loved. We were both immediately impressed with how friendly, easygoing and knowledgeable he was - so much so, that we asked him to represent us. He helped guide us through an extremely daunting process (the market doesn’t get worse than Boston in 2021), helped us make a competitive offer without pushing us into a range that would make us uncomfortable.
Ultimately, we came in close second; outbid by a cash offer. We were both distraught to lose what we felt was our dream home, but Nick reassured us that we’d find something we’d like just as much, if not even better.
He very much kept his word. Within three months, Nick helped us find the ideal lofted three-bed apartment, in a neighborhood we both love - texting us several times a week with promising leads until we found “the one”. He never once tried to push anything that we felt unsure about. It was like having a friend who also happens to be a realtor helping us out.
We would’ve missed out on what we’re now proud to call our home if it wasn’t for Nick’s diligence and thoughtfulness. He made himself available on extremely short notice to secure a viewing mere hours before offers were due. He guided us towards a great legal representative. He helped highlight minor issues during home inspection - and went so far to go out and buy missing lightbulbs, fixtures, etc. before closing! Just a class act all the way.

"Nick Schmalensee lives a few houses down from me. He came over and took photos of the first floor apartment and its porch. He rearranged the porch furniture and put some curtains that were not in use into the adjacent closets and discussed prices with me. The pictures that he took were beautiful and a few hours after meeting with me, he called saying that he had 4 or 5 people who wanted to see the apartment. I didn't want anyone but him to show the place so I gave him the key and allowed me to meet the people who looked at the place. he couldn't have been more helpful and the next day, it was rented to two very nice young women.
