B.A. with a double major in Psychology and Sociology from Connecticut College; M.S.W. from Columbia University; PhD in Clinical Social Work from New York University.
A lifelong lover of all things architecture and interior design, Debra possesses a deep passion for working with people. So what better career for this inspired daughter of a Massachusetts broker than one that involves helping clients achieve their residential real estate dreams?
With New York City being the most unique, dynamic, and intricate real estate market in the world, Debra is especially invaluable in her ability to break down the process, calm clients' anxieties, and offer guidance every step of the way, until their ultimate goals are met. Her forte is achieving a natural comfort level with people, truly listening to their needs, then following through with full efforts and resources to find the home best suited for them. Along with her colleagues on The Bondy Team, Debra works with buyers, sellers and renters throughout New York City, ensuring the process is always seamless and fun.
A Massachusetts native, Debra earned her B.A. degree from Connecticut College, her Masters in Social Work from Columbia University, and her PhD in Clinical Social Work from New York University. She formerly spent several decades as a professional psychotherapist, helping people in a variety of capacities, from private work with individuals to spearheading the adoption of special needs children as founder of The Adoption Family Center and Program Director at Queens Children's Guidance Center. Transitioning into real estate melded Debra’s passions for New York, architecture, and helping people, and she quickly established herself as one of the top brokers in New York City.
A Brooklyn resident for many years, she previously lived in Cobble Hill before moving into a Park Slope brownstone that she renovated, where she lives with her husband, two children, and dog. She has sold extensively throughout premier Brooklyn neighborhoods, as well as in Manhattan and Queens. A former PTA president and AYSO soccer coach, Debra is actively involved in her beautiful community, and is also an avid tennis player who can often be found in combat at the park's tennis center.
