Jim is active with the Stanford New York Alumni Board, the Stanford Pride Alumni Club, StartOut NY, Metro NY YPO/WPO and the SPIRE Stanford Professionals in Real Estate.
Jim is a Native Texan and a devoted New Yorker for over 25 years. He has a proven track record resulting in hundreds of millions of dollars in property value sold whether a $40 million 5 unit condo conversion or $20 million three bed facing Central Park or $450,000 east side one bed. He earned his MBA from Wharton and his BA from Stanford.
His services range from marketing coop and condo apartments and townhouses to purchasing multi-family investment properties. Managing resale listings is his specialty, and his sellers entrust Jim with their New York City properties based on his highly effective marketing approach. His market knowledge, thoroughness and patience lead to successfully executed transactions. Jim's business is a balance of successfully serving both buyers and sellers. In 2015 Jim formed the Jim Farah Team to help manage the growth and evolution of the services offered as part of Compass's expansion.
He also served as President and Board Member for Farah Inc., a $425 million multi-national, NYSE-listed company with employment reaching 6,000 people globally. Farah Inc.'s brands included Farah, Generra, Savane, and John Henry. The Farah label has been in business continuously for over 96 years and is enjoying a renaissance around the world with its Vintage “F” tab collection. Jim works hard and always finds time to give back to his communities. He has been active in many ways, including with the Rotary, YMCA, United Way, Stanford University Regional Centennial Campaign Chair, Advisory Board Member for The University of Texas Austin Business School, Wharton Graduate Business School's Dean's Advisory Council, Stanford University Pride Alumni Board and YPO/WPO Forum Moderator in New York.
