About Kirsten

Kirsten Syrett is a Brooklyn-based real estate broker with Compass who brings an adventurous spirit, hyper-local expertise, and hands-on experience to every client relationship. She specializes in helping buyers and sellers navigate Brooklyn’s competitive market.

Kirsten’s path to real estate began in the skies. As a New York City - based flight attendant for Delta Air Lines, she traveled the world while maintaining a home base in the city she loved. After successfully negotiating a buyout of her rent-stabilized East Village apartment and purchasing her first apartment in Brooklyn, she discovered both a passion and a natural talent for real estate.

She launched her career in 2002 at a boutique firm in Brooklyn's Boerum Hill neighborhood, by finding qualified tenants for townhouse owners. Recognizing the wealth-building potential of Brooklyn brownstones and multifamily properties, Kirsten started guiding buyers and sellers through townhouse sales across brownstone Brooklyn.

Over the years, Kirsten has personally renovated multiple properties - including a historic townhouse in Prospect Lefferts Gardens and a three-family home in Cobble Hill - giving her clients valuable real-world insight into renovation, investment strategy, and property value optimization.

Today, Kirsten is known for her clear guidance, meticulous attention to detail, and steady, hands-on approach throughout the buying and selling process - from pricing strategy and marketing through co-op board approvals and closing. Her core neighborhood focus includes Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, Boerum Hill, Park Slope, Prospect Lefferts Gardens, and Prospect Heights. 

Kirsten joined Compass in 2017 and is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY). She holds the New York Residential Specialist (NYRS) designation and is a Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE).

Originally from the North of England, Kirsten moved to the United States at twelve, living in Indiana, Maryland, and Georgia before making her way to New York City in the early 90s.
