About Patrick
A native of Brooklyn Heights, schooled at Saint Ann’s and raised in a townhouse, Patrick has intimate knowledge of and about the city, but specifically ā€œThe Heightsā€ and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Before real estate, he worked for many years as a successful commercial film editor and director running his own business, making him no stranger to high-pressure situations involving big budgets, tight deadlines, larger-than-life personalities and the need for results.

Patrick has successfully applied his experience running his own business and working with big brands like Budweiser, Google, Coke, Apple, Netflix and BMW to his work in real estate. He spent a number of years at Corcoran in Brooklyn Heights, until he was recruited by the still relatively new Compass to help grow his business and better serve his clients' needs.

After a 5 year hiatus working as an alpine race coach, working with his son and many elite athletes destined for the NCAA and national teams, he has returned to Compass. Patrick is excited to be the newest member of The Zolan Rossiter Team, a highly successful small team with over $560M in career sales.

With a background in such varied and challenging careers, Patrick has developed and refined skills that translate directly to success in real estate - creative expression, problem solving, discipline, drive and a dedication to outstanding client service. These traits have served him well in his career and helped him develop his philosophy which is to get his clients the best price, in the shortest amount of time with the fewest problems.

A resident of Boerum Hill, Patrick lives with his wife and their two children. When not working, you can find him on his bike riding, skiing too fast, spending time with family and friends, taking photos, playing squash, enjoying the city and the Berkshires.

"My wife and I were first-time homebuyers when we began working with Patrick in Brooklyn, in 2016. The fact that I am happily writing this testimonial nine years later should tell you enough—during the process, Patrick became (and remains) a friend of ours, someone we think of fondly and are happy to hear from. More to the point, though, my wife and I didn't really know what we were doing when we started the process of buying our first home in New York, and Patrick was amazing at helping us (gently but definitively) navigate the process, think through the options, weigh trade-offs, etc. It very much felt like Patrick was our advocate and counselor, and us getting the perfect home for us was in no small part due to his efforts. In addition to his comprehensive knowledge of the real estate market and system in New York, on top of that Patrick is just a great guy: easy to talk to, detail-oriented, never pushy and always supportive. My wife and I can't recommend Patrick enough." -Hunter S.

"Several years ago my wife and I were at a crossroads that many New Yorkers face- can we stay or do we have to go (to the suburbs)? We desperately wanted to make Brooklyn work but didn’t know how to go from our small condo to something with enough space for our growing family. We stumbled into Patrick Burns at an Open House and his combination of neighborhood knowledge and quiet confidence was a perfect fit for us. He helped us sell the condo for 15% over asking while simultaneously helping us find a Park Slope Brownstone that we could both live in and rent two units out to help manage the cost. He even found us a great contractor to help us fix up the new place. Throughout this complicated process his skill and patience never wavered and we will be forever grateful to him!" -Jim M.
