"Phil was recommended to us by one of my long-time friends and former college classmates. Phil helped he and his wife purchase their first home a few years ago, and they had a pretty smooth ride. When the time came for us to start looking for a home, we decided to give Phil a call.
Originally, we were planning on renting a house. We were in an apartment and were tired of that environment. We wanted a house! He set us up with the MLS Matrix, and away we went! We realized pretty quickly that the cost of renting a house, combined with the fees for our 3 pets, would be pretty high. We'd been saving for a few months/years, so we decided that from a financial point-of-view, we may as well buy before the market climbed even higher. Phil then set us up with a second MLS Matrix, and we went from there.
Over the course of a few weekends, we started looking at houses with Phil. We narrowed down what we were looking for, and Phil handled the rest. We made an offer on one house, but with the crazy market that is present-day Austin, we didn't get the nod. Apparently, there were at least 20-30 offers on this one house, with multiple full-cash offers for well over the asking price. We were pretty bummed, but we kept at it with Phil.
We finally found a house, and Phil set us up with a viewing. We wound up making an offer, AND we got the acceptance! There were a few things the house needed, and Phil took care of getting things going with that. He made it very easy to close on the house. We had a few set-backs, which is to be expected, but none were of his own doing. We were also recommended to a Lending Agent from a family member who had helped them close on their house in the Houston area years before. We had a MUCH different experience than they did, and Phil kept his calm and professionalism intact. That in itself was impressive, as this Lending Agent turned out to be a quasi-nightmare.
We got everything sorted finally and closed on the house. Phil went above and beyond quite a few times to help us on things I'm pretty sure were outside the scope of his responsibility, but as first-time homebuyers, it made it so much easier and less stressful.
