"We had been warned repeatedly about the impossible Austin real estate market when we decided to move to the area four months ago. We were warned to it would take up to three months to find a home. "My wife and I are moving from NYC back to Austin, and thanks to Compass' David Ramirez, the process was about as smooth and stress-free as I can imagine a cross-country home buying experience to be. We couldn't afford multiple trips to Austin for leisurely house hunting. We had to be smart and fast. David took the time to get to know us over the phone and set up some online searches to get us going. He explained the pros and cons of various neighborhoods and helped set our expectations. I flew to Austin, met David and -- I kid you not -- put an offer down on a house within 6 hours. You have to understand something: David is turbo. If you don't like a home or a neighborhood, he listens, makes adjustments and moves on quickly. I never once felt like David was irritated with me when I axed an entire region from our search after driving through it. We saw 6 or 7 homes in about 2.5 hours. Nearly all of them were great. But then we went back to *the* one (which was near the end of our search) and decided to go for it. The house had been on the market less than 12 hours when we made an offer on it. As first-time homebuyers, we were clueless and nervous about the whole process. David not only patiently walked us through every step, he was incredibly communicative whenever a curve ball came up.
