Today, she makes her professional home at Compass because it allows her to tailor each campaign to the distinct property she’s handling. You’ll never catch Robin offering an ordinary approach. And she’s willing to tap into her own margins to ensure it, whether it is employing independent public relations professionals, marketing properties in complementary ways, and engaging a search engine-optimization team to help create her bespoke campaigns. “I like every client to feel like they are my only client,” she says.
Joel, who together with his partner bought a renovated Colonial through Robin at the height of the coronavirus pandemic, said she immediately zeroed-in on the fact that they would be most comfortable within walking distance of downtown Greenwich, given that they were coming from New York City. Unsure how quickly they could sell their city property, Robin found a two-family home that enabled the couple to buy immediately and rent out part of their new place to cover their city expenses. She even found them a renter within 24 hours of closing.
“We love where we live,” Joel said. “We’re very grateful that she was so astute.” Robin’s master’s degree in business administration taught her that every project has a unique goal and a mission. Her command of interior design and historic preservation afford an entirely different advantage when advising buyers and sellers, particularly in the luxury segment.
She is a past chair of Greenwich Historical Society’s Landmark Recognition Program, Think Greenwich and Friends of Greenwich Harbor. Robin holds a B.A. in philosophy from Georgetown University as well as her MBA from Northwestern University. She’s a six-time United States champion in Pro-Am American Smooth ballroom dance.
While Robin focuses on the Greenwich and lower Fairfield County property markets, she also represents specialty properties in other luxury markets.

" "In all my years of building and buying and selling homes, I have never encountered a broker with as much skill, talent, and integrity (something that does not exist anymore) like ROBIN KENCEL. She is polite and so courteous, but at the same time in her own way, has amazing tenacity and fortitude to dig in and get the job done no matter how insurmountable it is or may become. I have never witnessed a broker not just bringing in a sale, but completing every detail of it from A to Z , remaining completely engaged and without skipping a beat. She is by far THE best broker in Greenwich and THE best broker I have ever worked with." " - American Music Executive and Broadway Producer
"The best of the best. I will only work with Robin. On a scale of 1-10 Robin is a 1,000. We enjoyed the entire process with her. She really represented our interests so well, and she is an amazing negotiator and doesn't leave you at the end of a purchase. She has helped me with everything, from groceries to furniture, builders for additions, pool recommendations, the list goes on and on. We love her to pieces and can't wait to work with her again when we are looking for our next home. " - LOREN R.
"We listed a house with Robin and witnessed first-hand the miracle skill set she brings to a house. She has a great instinct about how to stage a house, maximizing its potential and vanishing its downside. We listed a severely flood-damaged house with her, thinking it was going to rot in this market. Robin sold it the next day. And she followed up with the buyers with a kind of charming tenacity that kept our deal humming from bid to closing. She always returns calls with energy and a story. We always felt she was there for us and had it all under control, and she did. Everyone should have a broker like Robin. " - JOHN C.
"I have purchased, sold, and rented 3 houses over the past 10 years, so I consider myself to be very familiar with the quality of service in the brokerage industry. With this experience, I can truly say that Robin is unquestionably in a class of her own, differentiating herself from the rest of her colleagues. She is a consummate professional, with recommendations based on hard data that is contextualized by a qualitative instinct borne of decades long familiarity with the market dynamics of Greenwich real estate. Most importantly, she genuinely cares about her clients and the outcome of their decisions. She will fight for her clients' rights, as I personally witnessed in an unusual bidding situation. She takes care of every detail to expedite a transaction. She has redefined for me the notion of client service as well as the standards of the realtor profession." - PRESCILLA T.
"I am a Managing Director in the highly competitive Financial Services industry and have bought and sold 4 homes in Greenwich, CT over the past 20 years, and in that process, I have never had the pleasure of working with someone as skilled and professional as Robin Kencel. She is truly at the top of her field in so many of the required and necessary attributes needed to successfully market and sell a home in this town. She is armed with facts and figures to properly and accurately price the home—and that is only the beginning. She is masterful in marketing the property and totally stays on the market pulse, literally 24/7. She is relentless with suggestions and viewpoints—all with the owner's benefits as her top priority. I cannot use enough superlatives on Robin's professionalism, integrity, honesty, and friendly demeanor. Robin was a delight to deal with; and the bottom line is, she represented me and my interests to the nth degree." - LEONARD M.
"Throughout the process, Robin always insisted that we keep searching until we found the home that was perfect for us. We really appreciated the fact that we were never rushed. No matter how many homes we saw, her character never faltered. She always met us with a perfect balance of warmth, trustworthiness, and professionalism." - KRISTIN W.
