"Unforeseen family circumstances forced us to plan a relocation from New York City in the winter of 2019, little did we know that we would need a real estate professional, professional network, chauffeur, therapist and friend to help us navigate our life transition.

In order to ensure that this note doesn’t present as a normal recommendation, I would highlight that there was nothing normal about our home purchase process. After viewing more than 50 homes in Boston area, we had a verbally committed offer the week of March 16, 2019 just as the S&P 500 entered a 30% freefall as initial Covid-19 quarantines went in place. Sam guided us through a home inspection, structural inspection (by our demand) and then a negotiated ‘pause’ as we tried to make sense of a scary and unclear global pandemic.
For the next three months, despite managing her own life complexities, Sam proactively kept us informed of market dynamics and macro data on the housing market. When our home came back on the market, Sam did not allow us to fall victim to our own avoidant behavior and kept us in the game. Without Sam we would have lost the house and not been able to write this letter from the sun-drenched warmth of our new home. We were not easy clients and our situation was not simple. Like everyone we brought equal parts emotion and fear. Sam was a most appreciated guide.
