Team Hatvany is led by Nina Hatvany, who formed the team with her three adult children, Natalie, Paul and Vanessa Hatvany Kitchen in 2016, and has been ranked #1 in sales volume in the City of San Francisco for both 2017 and 2018. Together, the team has over 40 years of experience in San Francisco real estate, representing all property types and price-points. The single-minded goal of each of the members is to provide a successful buying or selling experience for the client, whether a first-time home purchaser or seasoned investor.

Nina Hatvany has represented clients in well over $2 billion dollars in sales, and has been ranked as the top individual agent in the City of San Francisco from 2008-2015, and again in 2017 and 2018. Her in-depth knowledge of all aspects of San Francisco real estate is truly unmatched. Her interest in real estate sales stems from her background of some 30 years in real estate development, including building townhouses in Palo Alto, refurbishing and operating several Bay Area apartment buildings and, most particularly, restoring and rehabilitating many homes in San Francisco itself. She holds an M.A. and Ph.D. from Stanford in Psychology with concentration in the Business School, and prior to her real estate activities, was a Professor at the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University. She is widely recognized as one of the best-trained negotiators in the business. She has managed approximately 1500 closed sales and has seen and worked through just about every imaginable scenario.

Natalie Hatvany Kitchen grew up in San Francisco, an alumna of Convent of the Sacred Heart. She graduated with a BA from Yale University and then obtained a JD from Harvard Law School, in the course of which she participated in a one-year exchange program at UC Berkeley to focus on California real estate law. Natalie then practiced law for almost two years in the real estate department of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP before making the switch to real estate sales. After more than eight years working alongside Nina, Natalie has touched more deals than many agents do in a lifetime. She brings to the team an extreme work ethic, and negotiation and analytical skills honed in a law practice. Natalie is also herself an experienced buyer, seller, condo-converter and renovator of San Francisco real estate and owns and operates rental properties in the City.

Paul Hatvany Kitchen is a graduate of Stuart Hall and Urban High School. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Southern California (USC). He then earned his law degree from the UCLA School of Law before returning to his home town. After becoming a member of the California Bar, Paul turned his focus towards real estate investment and sales. Paul’s legal background, combined with his investment, ownership, and management of several apartment buildings around the City, serves as an asset for both buyers and sellers alike. He is keenly focused on evolving local ordinances, rent board decisions, and the changing legal and political landscape to best advise his clients on pricing, risk-management and sales and acquisitions. His knowledge and understanding of multi-unit properties and their unique risks and rewards has allowed him to open an investment fund, allowing qualified investors to participate under his direction and using his understanding of the complex rent-control laws to maximize returns. All that said, Paul also loves helping and advising first-time home buyers at every price-point.

Vanessa Hatvany Kitchen is also an alumna of Convent of the Sacred Heart, and holds a BA in English from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, and a MA in Journalism from New York University. After graduate school, Vanessa worked in editorial/journalism, public relations, and marketing for large firms in New York City, and then pivoted into real estate, working as a real estate agent at Douglas Elliman for seven years, building a thriving luxury residential sales business specializing in high-end properties including townhouses, lofts, co-ops, condominiums, and new development sales. She served as Board President of her condominium association and frequently worked as a project manager for her international clients to oversee construction and the rental process for investment properties. In 2016 she returned to San Francisco to bring this experience to Team Hatvany, in particular to spearhead public relations and marketing initiatives, as well as sales. Vanessa is also a real estate investor and owns and operates a multi-unit building in the Marina district, and as an avid remodeler, can advise with experience on a property’s potential, whether to fulfill a buyer’s dream or to maximize a sale.
