Originally hailing from Ohio, Shana's love for Colorado's outdoor adventures and abundant sunshine brought her to the Centennial State. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Management from Colorado State University, with a minor in political science. Following her undergraduate studies, Shana's commitment to global community development led her to serve in the Peace Corps as a Natural Resources Extension Agent in Mali, West Africa.

Upon returning from her impactful work in Africa, Shana pursued her Juris Doctor (J.D.) at the University of Denver, College of Law. During law school, her passion for environmental issues shone through as she served as the Production Editor of the Water Law Review and Vice President of the Environmental Law Society. After completing her legal studies, Shana embarked on a career in water law at the Colorado Attorney General's Office, where she served as an Assistant Attorney General.
