Simone McCarthy is a proud Bay Area native and third-generation San Carlos resident with deep roots in her community. A graduate of Carlmont High School, Simone grew up playing soccer, attending mission trips with St. Charles Parish, and cheering on her brother at St. Francis baseball games. Her love for storytelling led her to study journalism at the University of Arizona, where she honed her skills before becoming a beat writer for the Oakland A’s.
