Susan takes pride in providing luxury service to every client at any price point. She has spent the majority of her professional life honing this rare gift, and it shows in everyday transactions with her.
Upon earning her Texas real estate license in 1983, Susan began representing institutional investors with the marketing and leasing of approximately 1,000,000 square feet of high-rise office buildings. She learned quickly how to meet demands and negotiate with CEOs of Fortune 500 companies.
In 1990, Susan moved to California and crossed over to luxury residential real estate sales for some of the most exclusive golf course communities in Southern California. These positions, along with her degree in art and design from Indiana University, have helped expand her skill set and knowledge base to include architectural design, construction management, and staging.
Susan eventually came back home to Dallas where her children attended Highland Park schools and Southern Methodist University, and now are working in the real estate business as well. Upon Susan’s return to Park Cities real estate in 2010, she went on to close $5 million in sales in the first 60 days of that year.
With each new relationship forged, Susan continues to add to her loyal following. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that she’s easy to work with a Godsend as one client put it, and an excellent negotiator according to another. She’s got a kind heart and a philanthropic bent, and enjoys meeting needs wherever she can, especially in the area of special needs. She co-founded La Casa Center for Autism in San Diego and was a founding board member of the Coachella Valley Autism Society of America. Locally, Susan served on a special needs task force appointed by Congressman Pete Sessions and also supports the Park Cities Learning Difference Association and Junior Charity League.
"Susan was such a wonderful realtor to work with! My husband and I made a very quick, last minute decision to move out of state and needed a realtor we could rely on to get the transaction done while we were not in Texas. We had previously worked with Susan on a lot of land and knew she would be perfect for our needs. After having her come to the house for our listing appointment, she recommended some home improvements to have done before listing our home to make sure we got top-dollar for it. Initially I was hesitant about the improvements because I know that home improvements require planning, finding the right people for the job, and managing all the workers once the jobs begin. Susan assured me that she would be the one there to insure all the work got done quickly, for the best price, and that I did not need to worry about a thing. Since I was already overwhelmed with moving our family of four across country, this was a huge sigh of relief. Because of Susans help and dedication to us as her clients, I did not have to compromise preparing our house to sell quickly and for the best price. Thank you so much for everything Susan!" - Taylor K.
“Susan and Ashley represented me in the purchase of my new home this year. I had some very specific requirements and limitations that I placed on them. Let’s face it, I was a difficult customer. On top of that, we were in a sellers’ market and the pickings were quite slim. Despite all their hard work, we had a very difficult time finding something I was satisfied with. After a few months I finally called off the search and decided to stay where I was. But Susan and Ashley kept looking. Four months later I got a call from them, “Mark, I think we've found it.” We set up an appointment to see it, and sure enough, they had. We had a contract within a couple of days and closed within a month. The mortgage brokers, inspectors, and other professionals that they recommended made the closing process a breeze. Since the purchase, Susan and Ashley have stayed involved helping me find a decorator, a utility concierge, and other service providers to help me get settled into my new place. They've really gone the extra mile to help me get established, even after the papers were signed. I’ve purchased several homes in my life, and this experience was by far the best. I would highly recommend Susan and Ashley for your real estate needs." - Mark
"The Mooney team was professional and thoughtful. They respond to emails in the middle of the night. They kept an open mind while we cast a wide net in our home search and they very were patient through the process. Buying and selling a home is stressful, but Susan and Ashley made the process smooth and painless. In the past we had used a realtor with little experience and also a cut rate corporate group, and we can say that Susan and Ashley were refreshingly experts with a personal touch. We spent so much time looking online, but once we were actually ready to buy, it was key to have a knowledgeable team guide us. With The Mooney Group it is all hands on deck with the whole family involved until you get a contract and beyond.” - Natalie & Andrew
"Susan and Ashley have an innate ability to locate exactly what you are looking for. During the home-finding process, they do so much work up front, to save me time. This is so important to me, as I am the CEO of an education company with over 2,000 employees to manage in offices around the country. I trust that Susan and Ashley can help me find a home without me even seeing it prior to the purchase. They actually talked me out of overpaying hundreds of thousands of dollars for a home that I wanted to purchase. Susan and Ashley always have my back!" - Kristin
"Working with Susan made our home-buying process completely seamless! She has a very extensive knowledge of the Dallas market, is so personable and easy to work with, and went above & beyond in working around our busy schedules to help us find and buy a home quickly. She helped us on every step, from visiting homes with us to helping us get great deals on insurance & other Dallas vendors once we found a home we love. We would definitely recommend working with Susan to anyone buying a house in the Dallas area!” - Alex & Matt
