Tara Rodgers-Culbertson

Tara Rodgers-Culbertson is a highly experienced and recognized real estate advisor with nearly two decades of experience representing buyers and sellers across Los Angeles’ Westside. As founder of Living West at Compass, Tara has built her practice around a deep connection to the coastal communities she serves and a highly personalized, advisory approach to real estate.

Throughout her career, Tara has developed deep neighborhood-level expertise in Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, Mar Vista, Venice and Brentwood. Her practice is centered on luxury single-family homes and residential land, along with select condominium and townhome properties. She advises clients not only on individual properties, but on pricing and market conditions, architecture, development potential, and the nuances that distinguish one neighborhood—and often one pocket—from another.

Tara’s experience extends beyond individual residential sales. Prior to joining Compass in 2019, she spent more than a decade building her real estate career on the Westside, including a leadership role at boutique brokerage Gibson International. From 2014 to 2017, Tara managed and helped develop a team of approximately 20 agents as the company expanded its presence and market share across Santa Monica and Pacific Palisades. Gibson International was subsequently acquired in 2018, giving Tara firsthand experience in brokerage growth, agent development and the evolution of an independent real estate company.

At Compass, Tara has continued to combine client representation with industry leadership, serving as a Director of the Architectural Design Group and as a member of Compass’ National Agent Advisory Council. Through Living West, she brings together experienced listing strategy and marketing with highly personalized buyer representation, helping clients navigate both the financial and lifestyle considerations behind a real estate decision.

Before entering residential real estate, Tara built her professional foundation in corporate sales, marketing and business development. She worked as a Senior Account Executive at PaperCity Magazine in San Francisco, managing home, design, fashion and real estate advertising accounts, and later joined Warnaco Inc., an American apparel corporation, working within its private-label sales division in Los Angeles. That early experience in sales, marketing and brand development continues to inform the strategic approach she brings to her real estate practice today.

Originally from Northern Ireland, Tara has lived in California for most of her life. She earned a B.A. in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations from the University of California, Santa Barbara and also studied economics and political science at the University of Salamanca in Spain. Fluent in Spanish, Tara maintains strong international ties while remaining deeply connected to the Westside community she calls home.
