My husband and I then converted that duplex into a triplex, learning every detail of the processāfrom permits to property managementāand kept it as a rental income property when we moved our family of four to my husbandās home town, Mill Valley.

In Mill Valley, we purchased our primary home with a legal 2-bedroom, 1-bath unit in the yard (before ADUs were even a thing), and weāve since expanded our portfolio to include multiple units across Mill Valley and the Bay Area.
