About The Shafer Team-CT
The Shafer Team at Compass was founded by Jesse Shafer on a few unglamorous fundamentals: clear, honest communication, marketing that refuses to look like everyone else's, and the conviction that even a complex deal should be a little bit fun. More than 25 years and north of $967,000,000 in transactions later, that standard anchors everything we do, and it now runs straight through the team's Connecticut Division, led by Courtney Shafer.

After two decades in New York City, Courtney moved with Jesse and their two children to Fairfield County, trading the brownstone blocks of Brooklyn for stone walls and sandy beaches. A lifelong designer and professional home stager, she has gut renovated several of her own properties, from a historic jute factory to a Brooklyn Craftsman to a modern contemporary in Weston, the town the family now calls home. She spots what a space could become long before it gets there, and finds real joy in helping clients uncover the next chapter in their home's story.

Connecticut is not a weekend jaunt for us. It is where we live, raise our kids and walk our dog Ringo. From the lush and wooded backcountry of Weston, Wilton and Redding to the shorelines of Westport, Southport and Fairfield, we cover all of Fairfield County with the kind of local fluency you only earn by living it.

Courtney Shafer 
Courtney Shafer

After calling New York City home for two decades, Courtney moved with her husband and two children to beautiful Fairfield County. With a lifelong passion for design and interiors, she has renovated several of her own properties: from a historic jute factory to a century-old Craftsman in Brooklyn, and most recently, a modern contemporary in Weston, CT.

After more than 25 years living and working in New York City—across eleven neighborhoods and three boroughs—and now bringing that experience to Fairfield County, I’ve developed an intimate knowledge of the metro area. I’ve bought, sold, leased, and invested in co-ops, condos, and townhouses. I know the process inside and out because I’ve lived it, many times over.
