About Tuy Dewey
Dewey and his family moved to Atlanta in 1996 during the Olympics when he was 10 years old. He has since called Atlanta his home. He graduated from Georgia State University in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in risk management and begun his corporate career with Bank of America in Charlotte NC. He returned to Georgia State in 2011 to earn his master’s degree in accounting and would go on to work for other major corporations doing fraud investigation and cybersecurity.
After buying his first home, an entrepreneur at heart, Dewey viewed the situation as an opportunity to get his real estate agent’s license in 2013.
Dewey started his business entirely through referrals—he would help a friend, who would then tell another friend, who would then tell another friend. With every relationship he made, Dewey was trying to create a lifelong client. He did this by focusing on his principal of “client for life.”
Dewey says he doesn’t spend any money on marketing or advertising. Instead, he focuses his energy on “post-marketing”: Making sure every client he works with likes and trusts him. Using this strategy, he slowly but surely built up his customer base, comprised mainly of millennials.
Why millennials? Dewey figured since he was the same age as them, and had just gone through the home-buying process himself, he could relate to what they are going through.
Currently, Dewey’s Simply Homes team is 18 members strong, with a mix of part-time and full-time agents. Most of the agents are millennials themselves, and Dewey says almost all of them have a bachelor’s degree.
Dewey while still serving his residential clients has since shifted gear toward commercial Real estate as many of his clients turned investors.
Dewey is based out of Suwanee but his team is scattered all over Atlanta to assist any clients anywhere in Atlanta.
