Vanessa Hatvany Kitchen

Vanessa Kitchen is a dynamic real estate professional dedicated to delivering the best possible service to her clients. With over fourteen years of experience in real estate, she brings a wealth of knowledge, a keen eye, and an analytical approach to each transaction. A native of San Francisco, Vanessa moved from NYC in 2016 back to her hometown to join her family and form Team Hatvany Kitchen at Compass, which was ranked the #1 Real Estate Team in San Francisco in 2017-2025! Previously, Vanessa worked for over seven years in New York City as a luxury real estate agent. She is a tenacious buyer's agent, specializing in negotiation, disclosure review and risk mitigation, and off-market opportunities. As a seller's agent, she spearheads Team Hatvany Kitchen's marketing initiatives and brings her marketing experience to managing the preparation and presentation of listings.

Vanessa is a longtime real estate investor, with several multi-family investments across San Francisco. She currently owns and operates an apartment building in the Marina district, providing her with an acute understanding of how to efficiently develop multi-unit properties into successful income-producing and appreciating assets. An avid remodeler, she has been involved in multiple renovation projects, including her Manhattan condominium and, most recently, two properties in Paciifc Heights and the Marina, and enjoys consulting for her clients on renovation with future resale in mind.

Vanessa previously worked in journalism, public relations, and marketing for large firms in New York. Vanessa holds a B.A. in Psychology from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, and an M.A. in Journalism from New York University. She is an active volunteer with the San Francisco Junior League and enjoys hiking all over the Bay Area. She lives in Pacific Heights with her husband, Aaron, and their young boys, William and Henry.
