Education
With nearly three decades of experience living in the Bay Area, Wendie Karel brings deep local insight and a heartfelt commitment to her work as a Silicon Valley REALTORĀ®. Having raised her daughters in Palo Alto, she served in leadership roles on the executive boards of two public schools, gaining a unique perspective on the community and its dynamic lifestyle.
Originally from the East Coast, Wendie understands firsthand the challenges and opportunities that come with relocating and building a new life. With a degree in Psychology, she leads with empathy, offering grounded support through the emotional highs and lows of buying or selling a home.
Wendieās career spans roles in high-tech firms supporting Fortune 500 and 100 clients, and later, a global au pair agency serving nearly 1,000 families across the Peninsula. Her people-focused background made for a natural transition into real estate, where her passion for matching individuals with families easily morphed into matching home buyers with homes and helping sellers prepping and marketing their homes to sell.
Clients rely on Wendie for her clear communication, strategic guidance, and unwavering support at every stepāwhether it's navigating neighborhoods, timing the market, connecting with trusted lenders or stagers, planning a move, or negotiating the best terms. Her clients consistently note her ability to truly listen, understand their goals, and deliver results with care and integrity.
From chauffeuring her daughters to dance, gymnastics, piano, art, Kumon, and tennis lessons, Wendie developed an intimate knowledge of local neighborhoodsāand a genuine appreciation for everything the Peninsula has to offer. A few of her favorite local spots include Terun for authentic pizza, MJ Sushi for budget-friendly sushi, Coupa CafĆ© for the perfect vanilla latte, and Farmhouse Kitchen for a beautifully presented lunch. When itās time to recharge, she enjoys a relaxing massage at Watercourse Way or Asaya Spa at the Rosewood. For fitness, youāll often find her walking Windy Hill Preserve with her Goldendoodle, Piper, or taking an exercise class at the YMCA.
Outside of real estate, Wendie enjoys gardening, neighborhood walks with Piper, and delivering homemade chicken soup to those in need of a little healing. A passionate advocate for animal welfare, she supports Dogs Deserve Better and Hope for Paws, as well as There With Care, which provides critical support to families of children receiving treatment at Stanford Hospital.
