Some of those include: 3 of the 8 fireplaces have been restored by members of the SE Chimney Sweep Guild to the highest standard for safety, including stainless steel insulated flues with rooftop dampers. A 4th fireplace is converted for use with propane gas logs. Two fireplaces feature arches created from the original slave-made brick. The other has a genuine piece of Red Square (Moscow!) built into the brickwork. Fine antique European stained glass has been installed in nearly all original blown-glass windows. A brand new zoned mini-split heating/cooling system upstairs allows you to control individually the temperature in each bedroom for comfort at the lowest possible cost. A metal roof was installed in 2003. The 485 ft deep well offers the best quality water. Septic system, well pump, and pressure tank have all been replaced. New luxury vinyl tile was installed in the kitchen. ----- Gorgeous antique heart pine floors are throughout the upstairs and some of the main level. Walk up the staircase to floored attic space for easy, abundant storage. Sip your morning beverage on the breezy wide upstairs balcony and watch the wildlife below. Additionally, there is a wide veranda across the front and shady side porch. The grounds are enhanced by mature oak, pecan, and elm trees. .
