Dana began her career in real estate in 1990 by establishing her own professional real estate company and then purchasing and managing residential investment income properties in Mendocino County. She also subdivided and developed unimproved rural parcels, interfacing with county representatives at every level. In 2014, she was recruited by a luxury property specialist of the San Francisco office of Compass. Now, Dana's focus is on sales in both San Francisco and her native Belvedere-Tiburon, where she currently resides. Her most recent transactions include an off-market sale in Greenbrae for $2,500,000; two listings in Belvedere, one for $3,755,000 and the other for $1,600,000; a $3,100,000 sale in Sausalito and a $2,525,000 sale in Tiburon, many of which sold with multiple offers for well over asking price.
Dana is passionate about everything real estate and she brings a high level of enthusiasm and energy to her role as an agent. Having bought and sold many homes herself, she understands the emotional and personal nature of residential real estate transactions, and she pays close attention to her clients’ needs. In addition to her hardworking sales dedication, she uses her experienced organizational, design, and décor skills to assist her clients with the all-important task of preparing their homes for sale. Now, as a member of Compass, Dana has the ability to market homes globally to the world’s wealthiest buyers.
A true Bay Area native, Dana attended UC Berkeley and lived in San Francisco for 24 years prior to returning to Marin County. She has a deep knowledge of Marin and its various areas, particularly her childhood community of Belvedere-Tiburon; she grew up watching Tiburon evolve from its last years as a working railroad town into the highly desirable residential community that it is today. In 1962, Dana’s parents purchased one of the last lots on Belvedere Island and built the house that continues to be the family home.
Dana is a member of the San Francisco Association of Realtors, the Marin County Association of Realtors, the California Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. She has been a lifelong member of St. Stephens Church in Belvedere and is also a member of the Belvedere-Tiburon Landmarks Society and the Redwood High School Alumni Association. She has a daughter who graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California (much to the dismay of her Cal friends).
"Dana is professional, whip smart, and responsive. She made a potentially confusing and stressful experience into an absolute pleasure. Buying a new home after a divorce I needed a patient and smart realtor to walk me through the process. Not only did she help me find my dream home but she held my hand and explained all the details during the escrow process. I knew she had my best interests in the forefront. I love my new home so I will not be moving any time soon, but when I do I will certainly use her again. I would highly recommend her services to all my friends and family. And not only is she extremely experienced and professional but she is simply a lovely person and very easy to work with. There are many realtors in Marin, but if you want a high level of personal service and expertise, Dana is your gal." -- Cheryl Bronstein
"I was relocating to Marin from Miami Beach and what I had assumed would just be a three-month endeavor turned into quite the foray into the wacky world of California real estate. Dana did a phenomenal job in this search. I had a long list of “must haves” for my dream home and I had gone through two agents prior to working with her. She was unbelievably accommodating in terms of looking at house after house on my behalf, regardless of the day. She had a thorough knowledge of the Southern Marin market and when I needed help, she provided it, wisely guiding me to make my own choices without ever trying to influence me unduly. I appreciated her honesty so much. This was especially important to me since other realtors were only interested in selling me the priciest home they could find. Dana helped me find my dream home. When my close friends start moving out to Marin, she will be helping them find theirs!" - Joni Taylor
“Dana’s greatest strength is her marketing abilities. She made sure all the inspections were done in advance, while she was developing a buzz of excitement about our property that was soon to be on the market. Our property is very unique and beautiful — but small — and even with its limited size, Dana was able to communicate with buyers that our property was worth the wait and was a very unusual opportunity. She managed to list our house on Monday and two weeks later on Monday the house was through escrow with a sale price above the listing price. Wow — fast work! Our family had owned the house for 77 years and we had all participated in its care. It was a difficult transition for our family, but Dana made the process easy. Plus, we were happy to sell to a young family and hope they have many happy years living at 24 San Rafael Avenue!” - Erdie, Ann and Sue Folker
“I was born and raised in Tiburon and when my parents passed away, I needed an agent who could sell the family home in which I grew up. As the trustee of the family estate, I needed an agent who could help me tiptoe through everything that it takes to sell a home in Marin. I now live in Texas and the rules are so different. Dana held my hand and when necessary gave me a shoulder to cry on when cleaning out 65 years of family belongings. I highly recommend Dana Garrick to sell your home. We had multiple offers within days and Dana helped us pick the best one to make all of us happy.” - Bryanne Wheeler Bickett
"Thank you, Dana, for helping us with our move to Tiburon. You made a rather difficult process go smoothly - you were gracious, professional and a real tiger when you had to get results. You went the extra mile when we needed it and it made all the difference. Thank you!" - H. and D. Scott
