A San Francisco native, born at the Presidio when it was still an Army base, Ray grew up in the South of Market area currently known as the Flower Mart. Ray obtained his real estate license in 1991. Since that time he has worked in a broad range of residential and commercial real estate activities. His diverse background includes: acting as agent for a number of commercial and multifamily residential properties; leasing numerous commercial spaces; acquiring, entitling, and developing various new construction and renovation projects; and acting as a construction manager. These activities have provided him with hands-on experience in underground storage tank removal and soil remediation; seismic upgrading to 104 F standards; elevator installations; and major plumbing, HVAC, and electrical upgrades. Several of the high points of Ray’s career have included his representation of the NFL Players Association in leasing its West Coast headquarters, brokerage of the largest site in San Francisco for authorized dealership auto repair, development of a 70,000-square-foot work center and school for San Mateo County, implementation of a successful marketing program for the 16-0unit Stage House Loft Project, seismic retrofitting, development and lease-up of a six-story office building at 78 First St., development and sale of a 53-unit loft project at 60 Rausch St., and the acquisition and management of a 12 screen Cineplex operated by the world's largest exhibiter, Regal Entertainment Group.
