Originally published on and reported by The Real Deal, a 180-year-old has sold for a record sum. The home is on Vandam Street, in the Charlton-King-Vandam Historic District,  a neighborhood between Hudson Square and Soho. 

The CEO of La Ligne, Molly Howard, paid $14.8 million for the 5 bedroom home boasting 5,100 square feet, according to property records. The sale brokej the previous record set in January 2022, when a home sold for $14 million in January in the neighborhood. 

The townhouse was built in 1823 on the grounds of the former Richmond Hill estate. This is where George Washington oversaw Revolutionary War battles and was also the former home of John Adams. The listing agents were Rachel Glazer and Cassie Glover of Compass.
