About Amy
A native of Los Angeles, Amy got her first taste of success as a producer of commercials and music videos. But the glitter and glory of Hollywood were never her thing. In 1999 she moved to Brooklyn, where she fell in love literally and figuratively. She met and married her husband, a composer and sound designer, and they started a music publishing business together.
Amy also became active in local politics, putting her political science degree from Hunter College to use as a field organizer, fundraiser, and then the campaign director for the Manhattan Borough President. She went on to serve as a community affairs liaison for that office before transitioning to her career in real estate.
And the move into real estate seemed almost inevitable for Amy, given that she comes from a family of real estate investors. Even as a child, she would travel with her parents to open houses, scouting potential investment properties. In the process, she learned a lot about what it takes to buy and sell properties as well as how to increase a home's value in the eyes of prospective buyers.
She earned her local real estate license and had been working for another Brooklyn brokerage when she had a series of great experiences involving different agents. She was so impressed that she eventually decided to join the firm.
Amy has enjoyed tremendous success as a real estate agent. The skills she developed working with artists in the film and music businesses, from her ability to earn a client's trust in solving whatever challenges that may arise, have been instrumental to her success. And her inclination to develop long-term relationships with her clients has ensured plenty of referrals and repeat business.
She does a lot of work with first time buyers and sellers, who appreciate her patience and willingness to guide them through the entire experience. And she also works with a lot of buyers relocating from overseas, where her fluency in Spanish has proven to be another valuable asset. Her stronghold has traditionally been Windsor Terrace and Kensington, along with Ditmas Park, Park Slope, and Prospect Park South. She has also been expanding into Sunset Park and Fort Greene as well.
The move to Compass has provided additional tools and resources to enable her to better serve her clients, and she is confident that the added recognition and respect that comes with this leading brand will help her continue to expand her client base into other Brooklyn neighborhoods and beyond.
