About Chad
Combining his love of design with his obsession over real estate, Chad is excited to help Heafey Baum Group and their clients navigate the complex stages of getting a home ready for market. He attended college in upstate New York and graduate school at Harvard, devoting himself for two decades to educational nonprofit management and then raising his own three children. All the while, Chad was busy buying and selling his own homes as a way to make a little extra money and satisfy his love for home remodeling projects. Then in 2007, he, his wife Laura and their longtime friend Virginia Davis, launched their first retail venture, Mulberry's Market, a specialty grocery store in the East Bay town of Piedmont. Mulberry's Market filled a void in Piedmont, giving the city its center and bringing a sense of small town mercantilism.
After nearly 13 years of running Mulberry's Market under his belt and with the kids having left the nest, Chad decided to turn back to his first love, real estate, joining his good friends Teresa Baum and Matt Heafey. Now Chad splits his time between serving customers lattes at Mulberry's Market, dressing up houses so that HBG can get them sold and working directly with clients to make their real estate dreams a reality.
