About Garritt
Garritt was born and raised in the Lakeview area and has lived in many Chicago neighborhoods throughout his life including Ukrainian Village where he now resides. His interest in real estate and development was piqued during his youth when his parents bought, renovated and sold three homes in three changing neighborhoods.

After receiving his B.A. in political science from DePaul University, Garritt worked as a policy/budget analyst for the Illinois House of Representatives in Springfield, but his Chicago roots eventually drew him back to the city. Back in Chicago, he spent five years at a construction firm in the loop as a project manager in the commercial interiors division. Having always had a passion for real estate and development, in 2015 Garritt transitioned from his career in construction to join Compass Real Estate.

In both government and construction, he honed his communication and negotiation skills as well as his attention to detail. These skills have proven to be invaluable in navigating complex transactions in the real estate business. Garritt’s clients and team members know him as analytical, thorough and informative. He is flexible and always willing to present new ideas and possibilities if the situation calls for it. He takes pride in continually educating himself, allowing him to inform his clients of the latest real estate market trends while guiding them through the process of buying and selling properties. His fascination with the evolving demographics throughout the city serves him well in recognizing potential in the real estate market for developers and individual homebuyers and sellers alike.

Outside of real estate he enjoys the outdoors, trying new restaurants, going to concerts and frequenting Chicago’s world-class museums. Garritt is also involved in various energy and technology startups and is on the Associate Council at the Anixter Center, which serves individuals with developmental disabilities and related challenges.
