About Kate
Kate has spent years designing and staging interiors so real estate was the obvious next step to complete the art of living stylishly. Her vast designs can be seen from the Cardinals mansion to Kappa Sigma Fraternity. She is currently a consultant on Lucian Lagrange’s newest 80 unit building.
Kate received a post-graduate degree in Interior Architecture from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1995 and founded Kate Krause Prange Design.
In 2000 she opened Shopgirl, Swell Maternity, Spoiled But Not Rotten Tween Store and Show and Tell Maternity. These stores were located in Lincoln Park and Winnetka. During this time Kate was a stylist and dressed celebrities like Julia Roberts, Liv Tyler, Gwyneth Paltrow, Leah Remini and more! InStyle Magazine awarded Shopgirl: “Best Boutique in the country”. She received Style Maker and Rule Breaker from Fashion Group International. Kate was at the forefront of making maternity fashionable and was recognized for this in several magazines and TV shows appearing on Oprah’s Favorite Things and many episodes of TLC’s Makeover Story.
Kate is on the boards of Hutchinson-Hazel Historic Disrict, Thodos Dance, LaBoure Clinic at St Joseph’s Hospital, Presidents Club of University of Iowa, St Clement Annual Fund, Loyola Academy, St. Ignatius Mothers Club and the Foundation Board of Prentice Hospitals. She belongs to The Saddle and Cycle, Abby Harbor Yacht Club, Beverly Country Club, Hillsboro Club and Port Royal.
Kate lives in the Buena Park neighborhood with her husband of 26 years, David and their 4 children.
