.. As a first time homebuyer, I was extremely skeptical and worried about the whole process, especially trusting a real estate agent. My initial meetings with Ted immediately put those worries to bed. He is truly focused on your (the buyer) interests and helping you find the right home for your situation. He helped educate us on the market and different property types in order for us to narrow down our search and figure out what we wanted. He never once pressured us and listened intently to our thoughts and opinions. My wife and I ended up purchasing a home that we truly love. I would recommend Ted to any family member or friend looking to buy/sale a place in Chicago.
My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Susie Schechtman to purchase our home this past summer. We found Susie on the SeeChicagoRealEstate website. She did an amazing job of sending me properties virtually in order to narrow down our search. (We lived in MA) We met with her a couple of times to view timber lofts in both the South Loop and Bucktown neighborhoods. We fell in love with the Bucktown neighborhood and purchased an amazing timber loft on the top floor (4th) with gorgeous views and wonderful amenities. The 606 is right around the corner! Many fabulous restaurants as well. Susie made sure all of our needs were met regarding what was truly important to us in a home. Absolutely recommend her to anyone who wants a hard working, knowledgeable and super personable real estate agent!
I had the pleasure of working with Susie Schechtman when finding a place to rent in the River North area. She made the whole process be as stress-free as possible. When I had questions or concerns, Susie made sure to represent my interests when working with the lessor. She was even proactive in regards to getting the property owner to comply with provisions we put in the lease. I'm ecstatic I had the opportunity to work with Susie and have found my real estate agent for life.
I had a wonderful experience working with Tessi to purchase my condo in Rogers Park in November/December of 2015. As a first time home buyer, she made me feel comfortable with the process and answered all of my questions in a timely manner. I appreciated her work ethic and supportive attitude as I looked for a home. Even though I was purchasing a smaller, relatively inexpensive home, Tessi made me feel important and like a priority to her. The whole office staff was also prompt and helpful during the entire process. Overall, it was a great experience!
Ted was a pleasure to work with and he found us our dream apartment. Could not ask for a better realtor!
Ted was great to work with. Could not ask for a better realtor!
My agent, and now my friend, Susie Schectman, helped me find my dream apartment in Chicago. Susie made my search fun and interesting. I was a buyer from out of town, so Susie had to assume a lot of the responsibilities I couldn't do myself. She was always helpful, always cheerful, very knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure to work with. Highly recommend!
Susie was amazing from start to finish. She patiently answered all our questions and responded quickly. I would totally recommend her to other clients looking for a great realtor.
I first contacted Susie over 2 years ago when we decided that we would relocate from Michigan to Chicago. It took that much time to sell our house but she kept in contact with me throughout that entire time. When my husband called her to tell her we were ready to buy a condo, she knew who he was immediately proving it was really her and not a robot keeping in touch with us! We really had no idea exactly where we wanted to live but she narrowed in on what seemed to be our priorities and found us the perfect fit in Lake Point Tower within 1-week and we couldn't be happier with the choice and experience ... thank you Susie, you're the best!
Searching and finding then closing in on a reasonably-priced apartment in downtown Chicago is like looking for a needle in a haystack but Ted helped make the process as painless as possible after i fell in love with the condo I ended up signing a lease on! He was very patient in answering all questions (via text, email and calls!) that both my boyfriend (who's also a realtor) and I had and at any time of the day. He's a very personable agent and an incredibly genuine individual and it was a pleasure to have met and conducted business with him.
Ted was absolutely great! He met with us several times over a two year period until we were ready to sell. He gave us good advice and we never felt pressured to list before we were ready. Once we were preparing to put our condo on the market, Ted went above and beyond in assisting us. He arranged for someone to come in and touch up the paint and fix other things so the condo would show at its best. He even went to Home Depot to get the paint! Ted made everything really easy. Once the condo was on the market it sold in one week! All went smoothly through the closing. We have and will recommend Ted to others. He's terrific!

In the midst of the chaos of hundreds of homes on the market with thousands of options and a huge range of prices, a buyer should have a trusted professional in their corner and that can be found in Ted Guarnero. Give Ted a call today and found out how simple home buying can be. Ted possesses that 'middle aged high' one rarely finds without consuming a box of Krispy Kremes and a six pack of Pepsi.

He unceasingly showed us one unit after another standing by our strict requirements and criteria. Very often while walking to the next showing, people he knew would say hello. Ted made Chicago feel like a very small town. Ted works seven days a week, is very reachable, and is always a professional. We enjoyed working with him and would highly recommend him.

I felt I had a partner working with me rather than just a salesman. I am somewhat of an impulse buyer; Ted made sure I toured a number of units, and slowed me down enough so I could make a rational decision. He explained the market downtown and negotiated artistically with the sellers, and thoroughly reviewed all pertinent details to me before I signed any documents.

To fully understand the exceptional job Ted Guarnero did for my wife and I in selling our condo and purchasing a wonderful single family home in under two weeks a little background is necessary. My wife and I lived in a three floor walkup two bedroom condo in the Uptown neighborhood in December 2008 when we learned that my wife was pregnant. After the initial excitement wore off we began to wonder if we could start a family in the condo. We never put a serious thought into it however because of the continued negative publicity about sellers having horrible times selling their property. As the summer started my wife became more and more stressed about the size of the condo so I called my brother-in-law about what to do. To my surprise he told me that it would be no problem. No problem! I could not believe it. When I asked why it would not be a problem he said that he had a guy that would have no problem selling the condo, and not only would he sell it, he would sell it without me losing my shirt. That guy was Ted Guarnero. I called Ted shortly after talking to my brother-in-law and I immediately felt extremely confident that Ted was going to pull off the unthinkable. Ted was very personable on the phone and his confidence was clear. Ted said that he would like to come out right away to meet my wife and I and get a look at our place. A few days later Ted came out and we immediately hit it. Ted is a great people person but not in an annoying way, I would describe it as a quiet confidence. Ted walked around our place and made a few suggestions on painting and decluttering and he said he wanted to put it on the market right sooner rather than later. A little more background, I lived in a 18 unit courtyard complex and at this time 3 other units were already on the market and in about one week the building’s entire parapet wall was going to be rebuilt so there was about to be major construction equipment all over the place real soon. I voiced these concerns to Ted and he turned them into positives. He assured me that he would out-market the other units to reach buyers they would not and he assured me that the construction would show buyers that an issue was being addressed that they would not have to deal with in the future. Ted left and my wife and I had no doubt in our minds that Ted was going to sell our condo. Within a few hours Ted called and said to type our address into You Tube. We did and Ted had already posted a video that he made when he left our building highlighting our property and letting people know that it was about to hit the market. Ted’s excitement was enthusiastic because my wife and I painted the entire condo and de-cluttered and about a week later Ted came back with a very high tech camera and tripod and Ted spent a couple of hours staging our condo and taking pictures. Our place then went on the market. The photos that Ted took looked fantastic, I couldn’t even recognize our condo it looked pristine. I gave Ted a set of our keys and he said do not worry about a thing. Ted could not have been more right. A few showings later and in less than two weeks, we had an offer!! The offer then turned into a sale. In less than two weeks, with three other similar condos on the market and massive construction going on, Ted sold our condo.
Now for the sale. Just to add a little perspective to the pressure that my wife and I and Ted were under, my wife and I put an offer on a house in the suburbs before we even listed our condo so my wife and I were freaking out about possible juggling multiple mortgages and a baby on the way. Ted handled this pressure effortlessly and he always made my wife and I feel like he would take care of everything. Ted handled the back and forth of negotiating, inspection, attorney modification, and the closing. Professionally, Ted was always available no matter what time of day and he made you feel as if you were his only client. Personally, Ted is an extremely nice guy who will work tirelessly on your behalf. If you have property that you are trying to sell or purchase-Ted is your guy.
