About Josh

Josh Ellis is an accomplished and passionate real estate broker and executive with a successful career marked by leading the development, marketing and sales of projects and residential real estate valued at more than $1.5 Billion. Prior to joining Compass, Josh founded and launched Native International Realty in 2016 and served as Chief Executive Officer for the company, after realizing a desperate need for positive change in the residential real estate industry. He is a consummate real estate professional with more than 14 years of experience at establishing operational excellence and driving business growth, while keeping a dedicated focus on the needs and best interests of his clients.

As CEO, Ellis oversaw strategic planning, organizational leadership and business development for Native International Realty. He frequently tapped his unique ability to guide cross-functional, multi-disciplinary stakeholders through creative brainstorming sessions to develop innovative solutions that delivered results for the company as well as its individual Agent-Advisors and clientele.

During his career, Josh has been a pivotal player in the success of some of DFW’s most notable projects and communities. Before NATIVE, Josh served as Sales and Marketing Director and was an Executive Member of the Development Team for Long Cove Development, Inc., the developer of a 1,200-acre, 500-home luxury resort community with homes ranging from $1M to $10M. As a key member of the start-up team, he helped oversee the creation, implementation and management of creative design concepts, services and amenities, in addition to spearheading the development and execution of strategic sales plans, marketing programs, advertising, public relations and social media campaigns. In this role, he led a team of 10 managers with 250 employees and contractors, and was critical in propelling the start-up development to more than $300M in Ad Valorem value within three years and profitability within 18 months.

Prior to his success at Long Cove, Ellis served Traditions Management, LLC and later Allie Beth Allman & Associates, Inc. by leading sales for The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas as well as The Tower Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas. In the first phase of the development he personally sold $187M of the $250M property, and generated an additional $75M in sales of other projects and real estate in Hawaii, Arizona, the British Virgin Islands and Texas during that time. In the second phase of development at the Ritz-Carlton, Dallas, after the ownership of the project transitioned from a national firm to local real estate brokerage Allie Beth Allman & Associates, Ellis grew sales to 80 percent of total inventory. As Senior Vice President and Sales Manager, he was single-handedly responsible for more than $100M in sales in two years, which represented more than 95 percent of all transactions during this period.

Originally from Houston, TX, Ellis attended Texas Christian University and received Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. Past affiliations and community service work includes Urban Land Institute’s Young Leaders Council; serving as Executive Board Member and Public Speaking Chair for Friends of the Park, Woodall Rogers Park Foundation (Klyde Warren Park); Dale Carnagie’s Management & Public Speaking Training Program; the Executive Steering Committee for the Turtle Creek Home Tour, and the Fundraising Committee for Friends of the Katy Trail. He lives in Highland Park, his two young daughters (Parker and Pop attend the Episcopal School of Dallas, and is an active member of Highland Park United Methodist Church.
