First Time Home Buyers
With an MBA in Real Estate, Marketing and Entrepreneurship, experience in the financial and communications sectors, and a network of local and global contacts, Lida is primed to handle your every real estate need, whether you are a local resident or relocating to the Washington, DC area.
After earning her MBA, Lida honed her sales and negotiation skills working for companies such as Colliers International, Standard & Poor’s and Johnson & Johnson. During her tenures with these companies, she brokered commercial and residential real estate deals, ran national marketing campaigns and expanded business development and operations across Latin America, establishing an international client base and extensive network of contacts along the way.
Building upon the relationships she formed with builders and property managers across different markets, she started her own company, assisting international buyers and renters—including students, professors, government and World Bank employees—find homes in the Washington, DC area and assimilate to their new surroundings.
She joined Compass, and the Carmen Fontecilla team, in 2017.
Using her comprehensive knowledge of the local markets, analytics and neighborhoods, Lida helps her clients find homes in locations suited to their needs and lifestyles; her background in finance ensures they have a skilled negotiator promoting their best interests at all times.
In addition to assisting local clients, Lida draws on her own experience relocating to the US to help international buyers and renters move to the DC area with ease. Fluent in Spanish and English, she can assist those who encounter language barriers and confront cultural differences by translating customs and procedures and ensuring all paperwork is in order. She aims to alleviate concerns and become a trusted advisor and mentor to her international clients, helping them navigate unfamiliar territory, avoid unnecessary risks and make their transition stress-free from start to finish.
As the daughter of a real estate developer, Lida was given an early introduction to the industry, visiting job sites throughout her childhood. She credits her entrepreneur parents with the confidence, compassion and strong work ethic they instilled in her and gives a nod to her early ballet training and competitive swimming with helping her develop discipline, poise and focus—all of which have helped propel her success.
For Lida, real estate has always been less about the transaction and more about helping people build communities and a better life. “From laying the first brick to move-in day, I love it all,” she says reflecting on the whole of her career. “I see the homes, and I see the communities that will eventually develop. I see all the future happiness.”
In her free time, Lida relishes spending time with her family and taking part in the community by frequenting neighborhood farmers markets and organizing events as a member of the Urban Land Institute. She is still an avid swimmer and can often be found enjoying outdoor activities in or around water.
