About Gabriella
Gabriella Ortega, grew up in the vibrant neighborhood of East Hollywood and remains a local. She’s always been deeply connected to the landscapes and cultural tapestry of Los Angeles. Her passion for real estate stems from her interest in uniquely designed living spaces and architectural homes. Firmly believing these structures are symbols of the city's identity and the stories of its inhabitants. This led Gabriella to creating Habitus LA, and joining Deasy Penner Podley at Compass as an agent to embrace the concept of "home as art."
In the last ten years, Gabriella has embarked on an extraordinary journey to get here. She pursued a degree in Social & Cultural Anthropology at UC Merced, and upon graduation, she delved into consulting for the California State Legislature. Her focus was on shaping state laws for South LA. Subsequently, she transitioned to a philanthropic role, serving as an advisor to aid in the grassroots development of communities through collaboration with local nonprofits at The California Endowment. This diverse experience uniquely positioned her to hold a comprehensive viewpoint on real estate, integrating an understanding of the effects of policymaking in neighborhoods and emphasizing community investment as a precedent for fostering a sense of belonging.
Through her venture in real estate as Habitus LA, she finds unique listings to share and represent, captivating stories about LA's community in each neighborhood, fostering connections for residents and buyers/investors.
