About Ivy
Homegrown and harvested in Austin, Texas, Ivy’s life began at the original St. David’s hospital in 1982. She falls somewhere in the spectrum between Type A and type not, both analytical and abstract. She takes pride in leveraging connections and has lived by the “win win” methodology for the better part of both her professional and personal life. Her first job was back in 1996 at the still standing McDonald’s in Oakhill. She remembers the smell of the kitchen, the feeling of the floors and the closing shift’s endless supply of chicken nuggets. Of these memories, she recalls this experience being the conceptualized sneak peek into her work ethic. With the emphasis on development and growth, Ivy found herself moving on to work with plant managers of various title insurance companies in Austin, performing document retrieval, running title chains and becoming well versed in both county and civil records. In line with a continued and progressive focus, Ivy shifted into public tax and accounting in 2007. Determination opened the door for her as reception and closed it as a Senior Accountant, with emphasis in small business consultancy and operations. The melding of her professional experiences pinnacled in her current role as a Realtor. It was as if the last puzzle piece was set.
To preserve her sense of self and life balance, she indulges in tending to her plant life, reading sci-fi, developing her blossoming skill in watercolor painting and volunteering her time to the many organizations who speak to the skeletal core of Austin, such as SXSW, Zilker Botanical Gardens, Austin City Limits and the Trail of Lights. Service creates intimacy, impact and lasting impression. On most days she can be found walking on a trail in the hill country alongside her Sealed Brindle Boxer, Veda Jean.
She has an affinity for small business owners, as well as admiration for the recovering addicts and an aspiration for creation and service, in spaces that have potential to change lives. Ivy believes the right connection in relationship can amplify one person's strengths, awareness and bandwidth, sometimes 10 and even 100 times over. Which is why she welcomes those who are braving their first time home purchase or second, ones who might be transitioning, perhaps changing chapters and even those who find themselves starting over at square one. Her collaborative approach with people is to assess and identify their natural strengths and then tap necessary resources to bridge the gaps, as well as provide outside perspective and guidance. Her motto in the making is “recognize, maximize, visualize and then realize”.
