James Russo, a marketing strategist with two decades of experience, joined the top-producing Martin Eiden Team at Compass to pursue his passion for New York City real estate. Having led marketing teams across the country that have elevated challenger and iconic brands such as Pepsi, KIND Health Snacks, Snickers, and Austin Eastciders, James brings a wealth of creativity, bias for action, and highly effective negotiation skills to each of his clients.
James has purchased and successfully sold several of his own New York properties over the last 15 years. “I’ve been in both the buyer’s and seller’s shoes many times and I know how daunting the process can feel at times.” Having segued into the sales side as an agent, James brings a client-first approach coupled with an abundance of empathy to help people find their dream home and make smart, life-changing investments. “Buying and selling should be seen as a celebration and I’ve made it my personal mission to make the entire process more joyful for more people.”
Having lived in both Manhattan and Brooklyn since 2000, James knows what makes these communities so special, for younger single first-time buyers and growing families alike. His knowledge of local history, school districts, restaurants, and hidden gems gives people the confidence they need to make these important decisions.
Born in Boston, raised on the Gulf Coast of Florida, and educated in the Netherlands, James brings a unique and worldly perspective to Compass.
James earned his BBA in International Management with a Music minor at the University of Texas, San Antonio. He is married to his college sweetheart. At home, they love to cook and entertain in their backyard. When he’s not working or spending time with his two kids, he can be found doing laps at the pool or speed-reading books.
