Janet Shin's unbridled passion for New
York City is evident from the moment you meet her, and it is this deep love and
palpable enthusiasm for her home city that has made her a favorite among
clients.
Janet's interest in real estate began
nearly 20 years ago when she bought her first apartment, for which she attended
nearly 100 open houses across Manhattan. "I just loved planning my open
house tours and going to see different homes," she recalls. And for the
next 15 years, while she continued her career as a compensation professional on
Wall Street, the siren call of real estate beckoned. She helped friends buy and
rent, and attended open houses for fun until jumping into the profession
full-time.
Her solid business background has given
Janet an edge in her real estate work — diving deep into the numbers is a
natural fit for someone of her highly analytical mind — but it’s the joy of
helping people find their next home that is at the core of Janet's approach.
"I love meeting new people, discovering their needs and working hard to
find them the home of their dreams. I even enjoy working on board
packages!" she exclaims. Janet's sterling work ethic, shrewd negotiation
skills and deep empathy have led to great success in the field, including achieving
record-high building price in her first deal as a seller’s agent, and having
represented sellers, buyers, landlords and tenants with equal ease and
integrity.
A native of South Korea, Janet is a 20-year resident of Union Square, a neighborhood she loves for its famous
greenmarket and foodie-friendly restaurants. She is a graduate of Barnard
College where she studied Economics and Sociology, and also spent a year abroad
at The London School of Economics. In her free time, she loves to travel, try
new restaurants, and spend time with her adorable nieces and nephew.
